Overview
About Me
I am an enthusiastic, active and sociable man that loves to travel. Near or far, short or long term matters little but preferably in sunny destinations ☀️ Immersing myself in new cultures is my greatest passion and is the best for discovering 🌍 while learning and enjoying.
When exploring new cities, walking and talking is the way to go. It's definitely the best way to get around in my opinion. I'm always encountering awesome handicraft stores, finding fresh food, visiting botanical gardens and museums, strolling through lovely parks and discovering cosy bars. Doing this personal quality driven experience, makes the worthiness of a trip spectacular!
While 'on the road' tasting new foods, listening to a band playing, enjoying art and talking with a local is definitely a must do!
We are surely all respectfully looking for couchsurfers with a good sense of humour who function well both independently and in a group. Let's all meet!
Certainly welcome to fellow vegan or vegetarian people. I'm LGBTQIA+‑friendly too. We are all humans here! I am to... Also kindly embracing people with any sort of neurodivergence: ADHD, ADD, autism, giftedness,...
Into minimalism in the sense of: 'if it makes you happy, keep it. If not, throw it out!'
Home means being yourself. If you want to do something silly or fun. We just do! Allthough structure, order and cleanliness — with flexibility — are the foundation of building and maintaining a home. On the other hand, after a long day, retreating and enjoying pure relaxation and me‑time is also understandable.
Preferring a non‑smoking home and I no longer drink alcohol myself since 10years now. So sad that I have to mention this too nowadays but BIG NO NO to sexism, fascism, racism and any other unethical, human‑rights‑violating bullshit.
With a little more than 15 years of couchsurfing experience, I'm living the way of free thinking. It's almost unbelievable I have to say this out loud but for those needed: You unfortunately end that freedom where you start disrespecting someone else!
Professionally, the workplace is at Saint Bavo’s Cathedral / The Ghent Altarpiece, and I'm having a strong interest in languages, personal growth and entrepreneurship.
In short: I am an easy-going man with a positive attitude. That's definitely the best way to get around. I love to have lots of laughs and approach life with a sense of humor. If and when it's absolutely necessary to be serious, please tell a joke first.
Let's also talk about interesting technology, space, mechanics, architecture, sports, politics, economics,...
Furthermore:
I am an amateur poker player
I study and practice Kung fu
I am an amateur travel guide
I am taking improcomedy classes
I am starting a business
Other cool things to put my thoughts, time and energy in are: hanging out with my closest friends, playing futsal with my family, going out, visiting art exhibitions or museums, attending theatres and concerts, learning about natural history and science and riding my 125cc brixton scrambler.

To share my love for travelling
Interests
1. Culture basically means connecting the (global) population. Behaviours or habits born and bound, from and to certain places, is so interesting. Especially when they're barely noticeable. It is the foundation of being human. Learning about it gives me insight, aswell as a lot of pleasure, as a matter of fact.
2. YUMMY IN THE TUMMY! FOOD! Isn't it everyone's interest? If romantic couples have to eat, even if they are convinced they can live of love alone, it must be necessary, mustn't it?
While eating can be just fuel, and I certainly know we need to keep doing it, I am content with just vegetables.
I am vegetarian/vegan (since december '19). On the other hand, I cheat sometimes. Who can say no to
a tiramisu for dessert on Christmas Eve at aunties place? Damn! It literally makes my heart beat faster!
3. Sports keep my body healthy and fit. I consider it my most precious gift so I take care of it like a boss. Some say it's a plus to burn the belly fat away. I agree. I might add it's actually fun 😂
You are awesome if you have some competitiveness in you. It is little fun to beat passive players. Nonetheless I respect someone who isn't! But It's 'only' a game? Nope... Sorry and I don't buy that crap 🤔 To me, fun is a good factor so why not make it a tiny bit more interesting? 😃😃😃
My favorite sport still is soccer! It has been part of my life since my childhood. Kung Fu comes in second place. I've been doing it for 3 years now.
Other sports I'm also into but practice less are jogging, swimming, playing squash/tennis, jetskiing and paragliding 😁

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been solo travelling in 2018 for 9 weeks in Mexico. Qué padre (Mexicans know what this means 😉) My trip was one big ray of happiness. I've seen, heard and done new things, met so many people, visited many different cities, temples and archeological sites, beaches, hostels,... I have tried a variety of foods, hitchhiked, rode on busses for 12 hours straight, have spoken all languages I know, except for my mother tongue ☝️🤭 for more than 2 months... It still is a fantastic life experience to me, sharing some of my time with great and glorious strangers who then most of the time became friends. I cherish that trip.
Other smaller lovely things:
- Seen a live Cirque de Soleil show in VIP seats in Ostend (Belgium)
- Paraglided from El Teide, Tenerife's volcano
- Jetskied in the Turkish sea on a hot summer's day.
- Slept in a tent in the Morrocan Saharan desert after a camel ride and dinner by the campfire.
- Lived and studied in Madrid for 6 months 🎉
- Worked in Tenerife for 6 months as a travel agent ☀️
