About Me

Hi all,

I'm currently living out of my truck camper (Beatrice, or Betty the beast) just travelling and working remotely for a few years.

As far as me, I'm generally affable and goofy. Outdoorsy, adventurous, socially adaptable, and somewhat nerdy. A large part of my life revolves around skiing as much as possible so I have been going down to Argentina for the last couple summers to ski in the winter down there.

I spend a lot of time outdoors, usually in the mountains. Winters I'm skiing, the rest of the year I go backpacking/camping.

On a super practical note - I should be pretty easy to host. I just need a parking spot and if you want to get really fancy - a power outlet, otherwise I am pretty self sufficient.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

Engineering and English background mean I love Saint-Exupéry. I am also a big fan of Bolaño, Tobias Wolff, Ray Bradbury, Mary Roach, Márquez and Joan Didian.

I like documentaries. The 7-up series rocked my world. I watch a lot of random stuff though. I'll watch most things on PBS. I'm slowly working on my Spanish by exhausting everything that I can watch on Netflix in Spanish with Spanish subtitles.

I listen to a pretty wide variety of music, it varies quite a bit.

I listen to a lot of podcasts. A bit of a news junkie, but also love This American Life, Selected Shorts and The Moth as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watched the sunrise from above the clouds while climbing a 14 footer in CA

Teach, Learn, Share

I am generally mechanically inclined and like to think of myself as "handy".

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good company and good food (totally willing to cook a family dinner). Also, if you have anything broken around your house, I will probably fix it.

Argentina, Austria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, England, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, United States
