About Me

Hey there!

I took 2 years off from holland, my job and my friends to play hang drum and to see if my hands can be useful for good projects , let the world wind take me once again and see where it leads me, that's the reason my couch is closed at the moment.

50+ : happy and healthy but not holy yet ..... it's as my grandmom said: " two out of three ain't bad ..."
I'm a blacksmith and obsessed by steel meteorite since the age of 11.
I since then, found out that mixing space steel with earth steel is as tricky as forging bones for a yelleyfish....
I understand very well if this doesn't make a lot of sense to you but it happens to be one of my greatest passions.
And I play my Hangdrum/handpan ..
If you're in a hurry you can skip the next part, it's the story of where I’be been and what happened

Alzheimer report : I've seen more than i remember and I remember more than I've seen.
Starting my own adventure around the age of 15 years old, I quickly found out that ~ROUTINES~ are dangerous, they kill animals straight away and most humans long before they die. That ‘s probably why I've been out of Holland the biggest part of my life.
Having had both nice and shitty ways to make money in different times & places, (in 2000, I counted 60 jobs; not 61 accidents (!)) I just got bored with it, it became too dangerous or life pulled me in a different direction and I consequently tried to apply what I learned into the next activity. I stayed with locals and extremely hospitable tribes on headhunters Islands, with researching salt water crocodille students on the Andaman and Nicobarese Islands where we replanted forrest gigants (trees) with no money at all but recycled plastics and good intentions all over the place, inbreed vilages @ Mayotte where people can sleep standing straight up because of Tze Tze sleeping disease (they say they sleep so much (and during the day) to avoid Tze Tze but after finding a local colleague teacher sleeping in front of the class on 3 tables I stopped buying that story.) I stayed with a millionaire in KL (he became a CS host since I surfed his couch for about 3 months alltogether (I mean 2 private cooks, swimming pool, driving around in a Bentley and more of those nice things) and persuaded him to sign up, smart readers make CS notes !) and since then, he surfed my Amsterdam couch twice! (CS is clearly a place of crossroads) expats , musicians and artists in Bali, alcohol under and on the volcano on Reunion Island, countries that were in civil war (former yougaslavia and Nepal ), lived on some uninhabited islands with the help of local fisherman and in 10.000 year old caves by myself , on deserted and hard to reach little beaches were I shot fish and twice a week, I stole some veggies from a nearby farm, I've had both crazy and criminal guns on my head and in my hands (in my hands to serve and protect/guard only or to frighten the wild pigs) , received hospitality at spearpoint (meaning : 30 men with primitive but most likely effective weapons telling me and my ex gf to come with them and sleep in the village , or here you die !) turned out we slept in the chief's bed and had a lovely experience, my hands went with the fisherman to different seas where ever I could, and occasionaly to places we don't advertise ....... thinking of that....sometimes woke up on the floor of the night before .... bla bla ...HALLELUJA anyway!
I'm so happy i had a life when it was worth living ! We could work for a couple of months per year and have fun for the rest of the time, nowadays this is unthinkable unless you’re a criminal •¥•

Allow me to tell you about the bright side of a life like this:
growing from mistakes and hard circumstances is how I think our species learns best. And I picked up something that I like to share here :
Starting your day in _/\_ GRATITUDE _/\_ towards who and where you are, synchronizes the regularity and the pulse of your heartbeat.
Having a Happy and synchronised Heart-field is good for your mental and physical health is what I'm trying to say here.
So before and during Coffee, I sit down, early morning, stretch a bit and I say to myself : "Thanx for my heartbeat, my digestion, thanks for waking up, thanks for all the things that are not under my control but still happen and keep this body alive, thanks for all the things that ARE under my control or that I can make happen, thanks for this and thanks for that and thanx most of all for another day of life on spaceship earth...
The list is actually pretty long aand changing day by day, and..... it doesn't stop there in the morning, because Gratitude is just a small word with a huge meaning and you can hear it resonate from the morning till the evening and from here to eternity if you just sit down a bit and listen ....

PHILOSOPHY

* If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space! (when I travel)
* the blessing is for the one who gives! (when practising altruïstic egoïsm or simply hosting)
* Having a human life on earth, is a precious gift that allows you to find your talents and your soul's way to express itself in this dense matter, explore it in daily gratitude!!!! (when you ask me !)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It’s pretty simple. Travellers know travellers. And we know how important it is to help each other out. Plus you get to meet some pretty cool people along the way.
Some fine day almost 10 years ago in Kuala Lumpur there was a gorgeous French CS lady-host who took me by the beard and a couple of lovely hours after that to a C.S. party 40 km from Kuala Lumpur in the jungle where we had by far the best fish of our lives , warm and cold water springs to jump into and a group of intresting and enterprising people who've been hosting us and many others that visited the event.
It was a dream introduction into the CS movement and I instantly decided to get involved! Since then I surfed and hosted intresting people, friends, brothers and sisters that otherwise I wouldn't ever have met. Some of them have become regular guests in my house, some have returned the favour and hosted me and some even left their house key AND the house when I came to theirs , some were great ambassadors of their country's, bringing local herbs or music from wherever they came, and out of all those (more than 200 'cause most surfers come in pairs) , only two disappointed me. If I decline you, don't take it personal, I have many requests here.
My no good experiences are with people that have no references, so I now prefer to accept CS members who have been hosting themselves as well (I'm sorry for the starters on CS, but I received quite some CS members with 0 references in the past , I had a some crazy shit here and I do this to protect myself from unpleasant experiences, unnesecairy waiting or an un-deserved negative reference )
plus: people who host are better guests in general.
Also younger than 25? ...... I'm not really intrested in hosting you, unless you hosted yourself or convince me otherwise....
or: bring your instrument and know how to play on it.
or: be a good cook for me
or: solve my riddle
or: fill in something F***** original !

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Apart from Anna and the other guy (my negative references, both from Ukraine, so if you're from there you need an xtra nice request) - always good and respectfull encounters. So........

¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥☯^= Jai Ho !Bring it on=^☯¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥

if you're new on CS, check this page of https://www.brenontheroad.com/couchsurfing-101/ you can save yourself a lot of time and energy, this guy writes really nice !

Interests

_/\_ Gardening and growing plants... in my house, garden and anywhere i can and go !
_/\_ Cloud-surfing whenever i have time for it. (this has become quite rare nowadays , shit!)
_/\_ Analysing the Observer of clouds until the Grey-Grinding starts.
_/\_ Analising that grinding lead me to Kriya-Yoga, a slightly painfull growing process but delivering fruits even in winter time.
_/\_ Blacksmitting keeps me in shape and makes me feel alive plus it allows me to pass some old and hard fought knowledge wich is another blessing because it creates space for new observations ....
_/\_ Playing on my Handpan (hang) is my obsession since 6 years. what a lovely journey!

update: I started living my 15 year old dream : becoming a street musician !

  • blacksmithing
  • kriya yoga
  • nutricion optimalisation
  • playing hang drum

Music, Movies, and Books

movies and internet are nice but.........
We all have 2 multichrome HD~camera's in the front of our skull wired up for a Live and Direct experience,
so I say: enjoy your own movie more than Bollywood or the WWW and don't forget to call your mom from time to time.

Music comes next to silence the closest to expressing the inexpressible and without this language of the soul we would be a sad bunch of monkeys...
here's one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aE8b4VyY6ck

most educative books for me in this life:
*Myamoto Mushashi : Go Rin No Sho, strategy of the Samourai
*Paramhansa Yogananda : Autobiography of a yogi
*Multiple unknown Rishi's : Bardo Tödol ...{Tibetan book of death}

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

ok, we're here : (Laniakea https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap140910.html) my eyes receive this light, I live in a war free country (sofar -so good), with free internet (i have a friendly neighbour), a clean toilet (with no pigs underneath), fantastic long term friends, great occupations, parents that are still alive and gave me a beautiful youth in this malaria free green valley we call the lowlands, I’ve been following my dreams without big effort, didn't get killed in the process (ok, THAT took some effort), when I work, I'm working with lovely, eager and happy students, colleagues with beards and beautiful materials, and my friends can live with the craziness that surrounds me like the dust cloud of the collapsing twin towers , I think that's all pretty AMAZING and it happens every day!

Bucket list :
* going to sea with a 100 ft fishing boat in 10 beaufort or more.
* sailing at sea with 30 + knots
* surfing on a Tsunami
* .....it looks like I wanna die at sea....

The bucket list allready done :

*solo climbing and topping the Bietshorn in wintertime.
* skie-ing @ 108 km/hr with a storm kite on the beach (12 Beaufort)
* sitting 25 mtrs below sea level on the ocean bottom, totally hyperventilated high, waiting for fish...
* Barbequeing above hot magma on Reunion Island .
* stopping my breath completely (for 21 minutes) this was never on the list but happened spontaniously
* seeing a huge fireball detonate in the high atmosphere in India
* green flashes from the setting sun in cyclonic atmospheres or a 360 degrees rainbow above the clouds...
* getting lost for two days , 160 mtrs under the ground in the "trou Warron" with "experienced guides" almost dead
* swimming outside in Reunion island with a 8 mph current and a shit load of sharks (strictly forbidden nowadays) ...
* surviving a couple of cyclones in tiny sheds of corragated iron.
* I single handed took my 7 meter teepee down in 14 beaufort + winds....
* Meeting Avatars and Deva's ....

Teach, Learn, Share

I can only hope to have learned when to talk and when to shut my mouth and listen.
I know a thing or two about growing plants *Peyote , *Bambu, *Datura and *Cannabis in particular. I taught West-African Malinke percussion on Doumdoun's and djembé for the last 25 years in Kuala Lumpur, Bali, Mayotte, Reunion and Holland. The blacksmitting of damast steel for the last 15 years in Spain, Germany, Holland and two years for the French government in Mayotte. We could talk for hours about primary perception, gas and electrostatic communication between plants if that has your interest, SBS, mineral depletion and how to get rid of it in your body. Deva's and morphogenetic resonance , amateur in sleeping bag-astronomy, semi proffesional in optimizing and finding bottle necks in nutrician absorbtion in plants and humans , making Combucha, ginger/curcuma tea and maybe even some thing else. Try me. Sharing is beautifull, knowledge's essence lies in passing it on and knowledge is like water, once you hold on to it, it starts to smell bad quickly and gets old, rusty and dusty, it has to flow like a river, and then just see where it goes! I can't get happier than seeing a student of mine making something that astonishes me.... YES!!!! so.......Cross my mind please, Hell! CRUSADE it if you're up to it but come on a horse!

What I Can Share with Hosts

* I'm a plant whisperer so if your plants are in dire straights I can help out with advice or action.
* I'm always traveling with a hammock so even a couple of trees in the garden can be couch enough for me. (tropical places only this one)
* Having hosted 100+ CS 'rs, I have some fine and some absolutely crazy CS stories, remind me when we meet.
* I ' ll bring Am*dam cheese!
* I play on my hang drum until you beg me to stop hehehe....
