About Me
CURRENT MISSION
So much the student. Trying to satisfy an insatiable thirst for knowing. And trying to find my bliss.
ABOUT ME
I grew up in a NJ suburb across the river from Philadelphia. Went to school in-state, have poked around the UK and SE Asia, as well as around the US. Have worked a variety of jobs, including: barista, high-school teacher, cabinetmaker, and yurt manufacturer. Haven't 'settled' yet, as I haven't found my place....I like to say that in trying lots of stuff, I'm researching my memoirs.
PHILOSOPHY
No worries; there are bigger problems in the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Just surfed (for the first time) through Vermont! WOW! I may move there. Seriously. What's that tell you about CSing? Everyone I met was incredible. It's like CS connected me with friends I already had in places I'd never been.
Interests
The natural world, finding my place, reading, writing, woodworking, learning new stuff, being outside, meeting new people, adventuring, helping to make a better world, fiddling on guitar, a good story, frisbee....

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Oy!
I realized awhile ago I was picking up the same nonfiction, adventure-type of story again and again (Into the Wild, Seven Years in Tibet, Kon Tiki...). I also dig the fantasy genre, for fun. Vagabonding by Rolf Potts is highly recommended. Currently reading lots of stuff on nature, folktales, and loving Joseph Campbell's library of work.
Movies:
That's tough to narrow-down. A few that come to mind are: Forrest Gump, Princess Bride, LoTR, Sean of the Dead, Firefly (TV), Enchanted, Dear Frankie...
Music:
That's dictated more by mood than long-term like, for me. Generally, I like acoustic-y stuff, folk, and alternative rock. Discovered John Denver recently. I like a story to my songs....Dylan and other ballad-y stuff.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I had the amazing opportunity to volunteer in SE Asia 6 months after the tsunami. Needless to say, life hasn't been the same since.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a background in woodworking and taught shop, drafting, and video production in a high school for a few years. As I haven't stuck with anything for long, my family throws the Jack of All Trades expression at me frequently. Am definitely the Master of None.
Currently VERY interested in learning about nature, culture, primitive skills, other people and places, and anything else! Please share with me!
