About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Having magical adventures. Adoring people. The usual.
ABOUT ME
I grew up in the 'outback' town Kalgoorlie (riding kangaroos to school, and such, yes) for my school years. I moved to Perth to start uni, and one day walked past a small poster asking 'Have you ever thought about studying in another country?'. I discovered with a shock that I'd never thought about that; promptly thought about it, and six months later was in Stockholm, Sweden, for one year.
Thus began my enchantment with the wonders of the wide world! Living in a 72-person 'Student Campus' called Solna, of cabins looking more like a gypsy camp (perhaps something to do with the oil-drum fireplace, inflatable kiddie pool outside Anita's cabin, and Christmas tree tied to the top of the laundry cabin), I discovered in a whole new way how different all the people of the world can be, and how magical can be friends and adventures together.
Since then I have lived in a collective house in Amsterdam, visited a collective project in Copenhagen, hitchiked around in europe, and become even more inspired of the power that people sharing lives, creativity, energy, passion and love as a daily way of life can have to create a beautiful world.
And so, I have wonderful adventures with my wonderful people and couchsurfers/hosts.. at home? On the other side of the planet? Everywhere is a destination, every day is call for being a little bit Fancy.
PHILOSOPHY
This is your life - be ridiculous! Be fancy! Today! No excuses needed. Love is needed, but luckily the more you give of that, the more you find is in your heart :)
My God is awesome (in the real meaning of the word!) and created this life full of people and things to be delighted in, loved, and carefully treated as super-special! I never want to be careless. Life is too amazing for that.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
If I have anything resembling a couch at all, I will host you!! With greatest pleasure! I love people to come in to my house, as long as you are expecting to make new friends and be part of something a little different to some couchsurfing I have experienced - I like to have an atmosphere of open hospitality.
When you enter, I want you to feel as if it is your home while you are here. You are not required to please and entertain me as a guest, but rather be yourself, be an equal, be part of the atmosphere, respect and relax in it as you would a familiar home. Get into it!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I can hardly believe how I was spoiled in Perth in just my first few months of hosting. So many and such incredible surfers have come my way! I enjoyed every person's company. I can't believe how some of these people have jumped right into my heart, also.. certain of them (you know who you are!) are not guests at all but are in my lil CS family. Some are inspiration to me, and most beautiful friends... I am awed by the openess of people's hearts, and I love it!
It seems as though have only surfed through this website a few times, in Europe.. because my first surf landed me in the middle of so many wonderful, crazy, lovely and real friends that I never had to search for a couch in most countries again! Heck yes :)
But lately I have been flooded with 'I Want A Free Hostel' copy-pasted couch requests, and had among my wonderful experiences, some less wonderful. I might be getting a little worn out by how big CS has gotten, and with how many freeloaders.

Interests
I love hitchiking, it is one very beautiful way to travel (www.hitchwiki.org/en/User:Dear_sarah). I like to make amazing clothes, I like to get people to teach me how to cook delicious food (though I make no assertions about my skill). I really like learning dances like Jive.. if you have a cool move, you are obligated to share it with me! I am very interested in you, and the things you have to say that I've never thought about before.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seen myself walking.. Fifteen years ago I was in a wheelchair all the time. Now I don't even own one, I live on the other side of the world (to my parents' slight anxiety :P) and hitchike around on my own, and do everything I want to. Amazing!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love sewing and creating for people in fabric what they have inside them, so they can wear it on the outside! I can put funky strings in your hair (and love to), and make anything thats not too hard with my hands.
I will also fix that annoying hole in your pants for you, as you surf through, absolutely. Though if I'm bored, there's a good chance you'll find its been patched with funky christmas fabric :P
