CURRENT MISSION
Take it to a higher level
ABOUT ME
I studied Chinese in college and have been living, traveling, teaching and studying in China and Taiwan for the past three years. I love traveling, meeting people randomly and getting into unexpected adventures. One of my favorite things to do is jump on a motorcycle and blast through mountains and forest. I have a whole bunch of crazy stories from college and my travels, so hopefully I can share them with you as I mooch of your couch:)
PHILOSOPHY
Human capacity is limitless, in every regard. If we are to truly make use of the gift of life, we must strive everyday to do something more great and wonderful than the day before, and always reach for a greater level of happiness. Live free and fear nothing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am a somewhat seasoned Couch Surfer, and I hope to participate in a positive way. To start, I will be a responsible and courteous surfer who treats your couch and home with respect and care, just as if it were my home. I hope that we can have great laughs together and learn from each other. During my stay if there is anything I can do to help you out, I would be happy to do it.
As for offering a place, my home is yours, and in that case neither of us has a lot, for my place is not anything to brag about. But, it is certainly livable, and you certainly welcome. Check out on the left side of my profile to learn more about the accommodations that I have to offer.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Being invited into small village homes in Southern Yunnan Province. It was awesome staying with cool families in the middle of the jungle/forest. (Not actually CS, since they don't have computers out there)
Staying with two crazy hilarious French dudes in Tainan, Taiwan. We cruised the bars, played games for children toys at the night market, got crunk in the apartment, ate the best food in town, and rode motocycles around the city. It was one of the best travel experiences of my life.
Staying with two Taiwanese dudes in Hsinchu, Taiwan. We explored mountain towns and street markets that I never would have been able to get to had it not been for my local friends.
Interests
I am interested in learning Chinese, traveling, conducting random research into interesting things, playing drums and guitar, creating artwork, and meeting intersting people in not so common circumstances.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Rode a 125cc scooter 300km round trip through the entire Taikoko Gorge of Taiwan's Central Mountain Range, reaching a peak elevation of 3,200 m, hiking in the mountains, and camping solo in the wilderness. I also took the scooter offroading, which was a blast. I met some fisherman up in the mountains and we shared whiskey and Chinese rice wine together - totally crazy!! I eventually made it to Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan, which is amazingly beautiful, too bad it was too cold to swim.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you sit upon Mt. Tai in Shandong province for the sunrise you can look directly at the sun, as it rises effortlessly from the clouds as a perfect sphere that is small enough for you to pinch out with your fingers.
