ABOUT ME

Well, let's see here...

UPDATE: I'm 34 now, and am back to 'maybe' hosting after a couple of years off. The rest below is more or less the same :)

I was born here in the Czech Rep, but I've lived my whole life in and around Toronto in the glorious province of Ontario. I've been working on an electronic album for about 12 years, and have 31 pages of a novel written...I've been on the same page for years.

I'm 31, and am slowly inching my way towards figuring out my life. It's a never-ending journey to know who you really are and what your purpose is. I don't think it's something we are ever meant to really know, but I believe that the pursuit is the important part. So many people live their lives without ever having to ask some of the bigger questions in life, and I must say that on the one hand I'm envious of them. Ultimately though, I'm glad that I'm living outside of the standard norm, and feel that there are many like-minded people in CS...one of the main reasons that I'm involved.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It feels great to be able to help out, and have so much culture and diversity come to me without ever having to leave my flat (figuratively of course, not Howard Hughes style). I've had some wonderful experiences surfing as well, with some of the most amazing people i've ever met.

I've been a bit slack hosting lately, but a recent trip to Africa re-taught me how amazing this project can be.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It's been truly remarkable. The amount of lifelong friends I've met in such a short span of time is unbelievable. Sadly, many of them have moved on, and more still are departing all the time. Thankfully we live in a world where keeping in contact has never been easier. Can you imagine having to constantly write letters to people? Never would have happened...
