About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live each day to the fullest, exploring, learning, traveling.

ABOUT ME

I'm a quiet, friendly person who likes to go on hikes and read books. I also like gardening and researching anything that captures my imagination.

PHILOSOPHY

I think life is too short to waste time complaining.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to host and I love to surf!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed through southern England, once in Wales, and a couple of times in Ireland, Spain, Costa Rica, Yellowknife, Newfoundland, and Vancouver.
I have hosted people from Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Columbia, England, France, Germany, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Poland, Spain, the US, and across Canada.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm an avid reader and an active member of bookcrossing.com. I like to read science and sci fi, history and historical fiction, and well-written mysteries. I can't stand romance and I shy away from horror.

I'm not a big movie-goer, but I enjoy the Film Festival and the Banff Mountain Festival. I have a collection of old videos. Saturday night is movie night at my house.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Summer 2009 I hiked the 223 km of the Trans Canada Trail on Vancouver Island, most of it solo.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have been a volunteer literacy tutor and a proof-reader. I love to help people learning English. I am trying to learn Spanish and would be delighted if any Spanish-speaking couchsurfers stayed here! Or French for that matter; I love the chance to practise speaking French.

I practise life-long learning on a daily basis.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have lots of information on the Powell River area, especially concerning trails.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Costa Rica, England, France, Ireland, Mexico, Scotland, Spain, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada
