About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be where I need to be when I need to be... whatever that means...

ABOUT ME

I am constantly trying to travel, but have failed time and time again. So now I'm doing it on my own.

I have traveled for conferences for school, with my father to see new places, and have studied abroad. I am trying to visit as many Spanish speaking countries as I can. However, I really would like to see more of the United States.

I am granddaughter to a hippie, so I am a Reiki master (even though I don't remember much about it). I practice yoga when I can. I am a movie buff, but I don't know much about the classics. I write plays, study languages, and love math. I can't wait to have a classroom of my own.

My goal in life is work hard and play hard, so I want to travel as much as I can before I leave this earth.

PHILOSOPHY

Imagination is more important than knowledge. Albert Einstein and other math geeky things... everyday is different so why not make it different.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a couch surfer and coffee grabber, but I can't fit a couch up my stairs, so no couch hosting as of now.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Philadelphia, PA for a NCTE conference
A girl's night meeting in Utrecht, Netherlands.
Information from cities from people from Lisbon, Portugal.

Interests

Lots of movies, I have hundreds in my collection.

I really enjoy taking photographs, but I only have a simple camera.

I like trying new food, even if my stomach does get a little wonky.

I love meeting new people and discovering new things about cities. It is really interesting to learn more about new cities, especially in US.

Music, Movies, and Books

Top Movie: Willow (Action), Knocked Up (Comedy)
Most listened to music recently: Santigold
Book: Anything in Spanish, because I'm trying to learn. I really like Janet Evanovich.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Christmas of 08 I went to Panama and saw the canal. I stayed on a boat for seven days and didn't get too sea sick. Last summer I also went on a road trip through Colorado to California, living out of a car with my dad for 10 days.

Fall of 09 I went to Philadelphia to NCTE conference, in the hopes of seeing Julie Andrews. Long story short, my car broke down, I saw a little of the conference, and ate a mean philly cheese steak.

Summer of 2010: I studied abroad in Spain, I went a month early and drove through Europe with my dad. With him I saw Amsterdam, London, Drove through Berlin to Switzerland through Italy. Then we went along the coast of France, ending in Barcelona (where I was pooped on by a thief pretending to be a bird (weird right?)). After my two months studying in Spain, I traveled with my friend to London, Dublin, Belfast, Amsterdam, and Prague. I ended my summer in Sweden with my family. It was a great summer and the most amazing thing I have done so far!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm pretty good with math and can help anyone balance a checkbook.

I know downtown Kalamazoo and all the local theatres, so if you want to see a play while you are here.
