About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discovering, traveling, tasting, experiencing! 💛

ABOUT ME

From a small town in Québec, I studied in Montréal and traveled for North and South America, Caribbean, Africa (west and east), New Zealand and now discovering Europe! I am currently back to university to specialise in translation and chose Barcelona for my student exchange program, as I am improving catalan. I love animals, wine, music, art, sports, trekking... Would be a pleasure to meet up! 😁

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surf in Central America, mainly Guatemala and Salvador, and I hosted in Montreal and in Arequipa, Peru, while I was living there. Great experiences! It definitely has taught me a lot about hospitality, respect and exchanges. We all have good and bad experiences through traveling, surfing and hosting.
In Barcelona I've been hosting friends of friends, which has been great. I don't have the best place now to offer, but as soon as I do I'll start again offering a great place to stay and exchange in the heart of beautiful Barcelona 💛

Interests

Dogs 😍 Travels, reading, music, learning, trekking, veganism, cinema..

I can spend hours in a library, lost between thousands of pages and uncountable stories. I love theatres and expositions. People that can draw fascinate me. To sit outside when the sun is going down with a glass of wine. Breathing the air of a new place, the smells of unknown food and the breeze of an unexplored forest.
I am always up for trekking, camping, or cycling. I love to be in the mountains, I grew up surrounded by forest and rivers, and it's always been my peaceful place.
I'm also in love with the sea, the sound of the waves and the sand under my feet. Sunsets and sunrises always take my breath away, salty breezes or dry leaves smell in the fall fill me with joy.

Music, Movies, and Books

We'd need a whole night over a bottle of wine to talk about music and movies! I simply love to discover new bands, singers, movies.. but I can say I particularly love Italian and Argentinian cinema, and folk or indie music.
I'm a romantic, i love poetry and emotional art. But I'm also touched by simplicity, colours, melodies and guitar. I admire musicians and writers, I believe it takes a sensitive soul to create and I love to be touched by artists.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To leave my little village in Québec when I was 19 to go live in a family in Mali, west Africa. What a drastic change, and what a life lesson. It changed me and gave a whole new perspective, which I am since then trying to always make wider and wider.

Teach, Learn, Share

I totally agree that surfing isn't just about a place to sleep; it's about exchange. It doesn't mean we will all get along all the time. But sharing a meal, a bottle of wine, an afternoon at the park or walking around the city, sharing about our lives and talking about travels. Yes, we could go to a hostel and do the same, but it's nothing like staying at someone's place, getting to know their environment, meet their roomate and their dog, and create a very different friendship. It's about allowing the host to travel through our stories, our culture and even our accents. It's about getting to know a place from an inside perspective, cooking for someone that accepted to open their home for someone they don't know yet, it's leaving a small but durable trace in someone's life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook, to talk, to share experiences, music, books... traveling ideas, recipes, etc!
I used to teach French and Spanish, and always love to do it even informally.
