About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Take The Plunge
ABOUT ME
writer, poet, questioner, exceptional dreamer, opportunistic traveler, unpredictable, predictable, impressionable, excitable, excruciatingly mellow, awkward, natural, generous, mystical, can move things with my mind, care-free, poor planner, present, passionate, tempted, tundra lover, undecided on cities, my eyes and my pencil.
PHILOSOPHY
Live, leave the earth a little better than I found it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host when I have a home and roommates willing to join me. I'm a good tour guide and enjoy showing people around Boulder or Santa Fe. I find it difficult to meet people at hostels in foreign cities, so for me, the CS project is a wonderful way to experience people first, city second.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
When a German traveler came to stay on our couch for a couple of nights I was hooked to the project. She was/is the ideal surfer, kind, relatable, open, gently inquisitive and polite. We hung around the art galleries in Santa Fe and talked at length about what motivates people to buy art, buying bad art, what's the purpose of a $10,000 painting on the wall? This conversation really opened us up to each other and it made for an open, honest and friendly CS experience.
Interests
the earth, the heart, people, animals, plants, bugs, water, cooking, writing, poetry, love, passion, temptation, slow travel, the flowers on the tundra, those special friends I've made while traveling, people-watching, farming, growing, spirits, being alone in forest, silence, helping people in need, using my labor for good, volunteering.

Music, Movies, and Books
Yes. I listen to lots of genres including bluegrass, indie, classical, classic rock, cultural, and more. I don't listen to hip-hop or rap or whatever corporate pop is spewing out these days. We have a television but rarely use it. We have hundreds of movies that I rarely watch. I read books. Books are golden. Books are books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
wolves in Alaska, sea turtles in Maui, an old-growth oak falling down in a storm, feeling connected to another person, laughing, smiling, energy.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share my experiences about wwoofing and traveling. We can talk about western philosophy, literature and history. I'm learning to play a Native American flute, also a bamboo flute, and want to learn to play more music. I used to know a lot about wine, but have forgotten a lot, but could probably remember enough to give you that edge at your next dinner party or couchsurfing experience.
