About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Life is short, so let's enjoy it!
ABOUT ME
I love being outdoors, the physical exercise and the reduction to a minimum. And I love to learn about other cultures and philosophies. I have made a career in business world but decided that working cannot be all in life and became a long-distance hiker and cyclist.
PHILOSOPHY
If you give, you will get back - probably not from the same person, but from someone else. But it all comes back - the good (and the bad).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Listening to my host, trying to help him/her, sharing my experiences, discussing whatever comes up in conversation
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The better I can communicate with my hosts, the better is the couchsurfing experience - it can be frustrating if we don't speak a common language. Luckily I speak a lot of languages...

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a very fast reader and read almost anything I can get hold of. While hiking I often listen to books on tape.
I read classic literature from Goethe to Shakespeare, thrillers and crime stories from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to John Grisham and all sorts of travel books. And I love reading about history and philosophy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have hiked three times through the United States all the way from Mexico to Canada: On the Appalachian Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail and the Continental Divide Trail. This took me 12,500 km and 1,5 years - and I enjoyed every single day of it!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you anything you ever wanted to know about hiking - and even more.
I love to learn everything a country's history and culture. And I am absolutely keen on learning other languages or improving the ones I already speak.
I would love to cook for my hosts. I am used to cook 3-course dinners on a camp stove, so guess would I could manage in a real kitchen...
