About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Explore. Breathe. Watch. Listen. (Do some freelance work on the side so I can keep doing all these things.)
ABOUT ME
So... my life turned upside down around October 2009, when I realized that everything I knew was wrong. Or something. I got rid of almost everything I owned, and got myself ready to travel around the world indefinitely, only to realize that I was still stuck in school for another two years. I'm considering taking time off, to figure out what I want to do with my life! I think it will involve more-or-less perpetually traveling, while teaching English and doing freelance work (writing, editing, translating, photography, voice-over, etc.--I'm still exploring this arena too!).
PHILOSOPHY
Oh, jeez... I live life to be happy, same as anyone, but it seems that sometimes I deliberately choose suffering ;). As long as I'm conscious about everything I do (in the NOW and all that), that's what's important to me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At this time in my life, I don't have a couch to offer. I hope to explore, surf, and learn, and then when I figure out enough things to stay put for a good chunk of time, I'll "definitely has couch!"
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfed for the first time in Okinawa, met some awesome people and had an excellent time!

Music, Movies, and Books
七人の侍、もののけ姫, The Matrix, Avatar, Baraka. Jazz, Irish music, shakuhachi, ambient, electronic, world music of many types. Lord of the Rings, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, The Warrior Diet, Ender's Game, The Power of Now. So many more!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have lived in an intentional community in Palo Alto, CA for three months now, and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Community is in my future, I am sure of it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've learned a lot about diet, barefoot running, posture, exercise, and managing stress / living in the now, from much personal experimentation and reading. I'm also great with computers, video/audio editing, soccer, parkour, and music.
I'd like to learn new languages, how to sew, how to cook food from around the world, and many many other things. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know what I don't know, but I know that I want to know whatever I don't know whether I know or not.
