ABOUT ME

I'm pretty bad at describing myself, but here I go!
I live in Salt Lake City, UT and am finishing up my PhD. The mountains are my favorite place. I have gotten really into climbing over the last few years (mostly sport and bouldering), and picked up skiing again. I think a little nature therapy would benefit everybody.

I LOVE to read. I'm nerdy and like science. I love dogs, and the occasional cat. My favorite color is blue, but my favorite color combination is blue and yellow. I love meeting new people and listening to their life stories. I am a fan of sarcasm. I should drink less coffee. I like exploring houses, especially ones with secret passages or hidden rooms. I remember all of my families license plate numbers, but this is not intentional, the numbers just stick.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surfed In Scotland, England and France. My schedule is crazy and variable, but I am trying to host when I can here in SLC.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed in the UK and Paris, and it was AMAZING! Everyone I met was friendly, and generous and soooo helpful.

I have hosted a few people here in SLC, and they have all be fantastic!

Interests

Climbing, climbing, skiing, climbing, haha. I also love science, nature, and am trying to get more into yoga and meditation.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: as long as it's entertaining I'll watch. Movies I do NOT like: Transformers 2, Joe Dirt, Spiderman 3

My music depends on my mood and what I'm doing. I don't have a super critical ear. I'll always stop to listen to the Beatles.

I'm happy to be able to read books that aren't text books. I like scifi, fantasy, fiction, anything witty and entertaining, anything science-y. Favorites include Ender's game, and Harry Potter. Currently reading the wheel of time series.

Essentially I spent so much of my time doing school related work that now that I have free time, I'm making up for everything I had to put aside. I'm taking it all in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was on the TV show the Price is Right, BEFORE Drew Carey took over. (Really I was just in the audience, but I had to sleep on a sidewalk in LA to get there!)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can sail small boats, but would love to learn more and own my own someday. I make a pretty mean batch of pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Also I am trying to learn new crochet patterns for hats, it's a great way to pass the time!
