About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My last mission was to see the world:) Seriously:) Well, it was a wish, anyway. The plan was to save up some money, quit my job and leave the country. Now I'm back, and am saving up again:)

ABOUT ME

I've graduated at The faculty of electrical engineering in my home town, Osijek, Croatia, with orientation on process automation and digital electronics. Since I still cannot find a job in my field of interest, I keep gained knowledge from being forgotten by developing some little electric circuit boards as a hobby :) I play classical guitar (prefer Francisco Tarega compositions) and have a thing for cats:) One of those furry little friends live with me at the moment and considers me a pet what makes me extremely happy:) I would describe myself as a person passionate for long walks around new sites and places, but that is not very true when the winter comes :) Then a few snowmen are built, a few snow fights thrown and I'm back on my little heater observing the joys of winter from a reasonable temperature :) Every now and then I try to do something creative like build something with a function of a table or a chair, put styrofoam all around the inner walls of the apartment and paint it with crazy colors, sleep in a tent on the balcony and such things:) When I'm not so active I feel good just knowing that I thought of some new idea for that kind of experiment:) People say I laugh a lot, even in my messages:) There is nothing I would like more then to backpack around all of those special places I would like to visit around the world:)

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live my life in the moment. Generally, I believe that people get happy when they laugh (not the other way around) and that a person should try to "always look on the bright side of life". I believe that constructive living means being oriented on problem solving and not on falling into fits and despairs. My favorite quote comes from Dory (Finding Nemo):
"When life gets you down you know what you got to do? - Just keep swimming". :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I've hosted only few surfers and hoping there will soon be some more:) I have been meeting some wonderful people who are a part of this community while I was on my trip to India, Malaysia and China and I hope for all of them to come and visit me in Croatia, too:) I found that donating to this community is a great idea and I keep talking about this community to all my friends in hope this will result in some new members:)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love new experiences and always appreciate something new to learn so I found that traveling around is a wonderful place to grow and meet new people. I had no idea how wonderful it can be until I actually tried it and discovered soul mates around the world:) Some genuine all time friends are now forever cut in my heart:)

Music, Movies, and Books

I adore cartoons! :) A good thriller is welcome, as well:) But I will watch absolutely anything. Someone once said that every book is worth reading - I can't say that about movies although I act as I believe it:)
My favorite king of music includes rock, punk, metal, grunge and some experimental artists such as Dresden Dolls. The portfolio also consists of a few well hidden nostalgic tunes performed by artists such as Madonna (in her early days) or The Supremes. I admire few solo artists like Laurie Anderson and Ani DiFranco and am always ready to hear something new.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I held a desert fox in Tunisia desert, traveled around India for 5 months with my friend and my backpack, drove a scootie like a professional although I have no driving license nor the experience with driving in "left side oriented" traffic, saw the sunrise in Taj Mahal, sow a hand bag from worn trousers :)

Teach, Learn, Share

The things I can offer beside my couch include sharing all of my experiences gained in traveling with maybe a tip on what to see, where to sleep, how to act or where to go. That, of course, stands only for those countries and places I've been to, and they can be found on my profile. Also, if there is anyone who wishes to visit any part of Croatia, I would be more than happy to give them some tips and probably useful advices (since there is always a higher price of everything when foreigners are included:)) when going about the country. Also would like to share all of the places that might be of interest in Croatia. Beside the traveling offers I can provide any online help if needed including electronic circuit boards (programs, advices and techniques of making them), C++ programming and making of web pages. I would be very happy to find someone who I can exchange such knowledge and experiences. Also, would be very happy to find someone to exchange guitar compositions with - in electronic or scanned form. If there is anyone out there with the knowledge in making pottery or candles - please let me know :)
