ABOUT ME
I once did a silly questionnaire the result of which was a short paragraph that described me to perfection. Ever since, though, I’ve been trying to forget this humiliating incident, so I can’t make use of it now.
PHILOSOPHY
Everything is best at the Edge of Chaos.
(I'm actually a hedonistic atheist anarchist, although politically I advocate direct democracy and economic degrowth.)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My experiences hosting and being put up (with) have been very good. However, when I really noticed what a great thing CS is was when I went for a month-long visit to La Plata University, Argentina, and by signing up to their group immediately met loads of interesting, gregarious, charming and entertaining people - many of whom have become my friends. It's better than being in a sect, or the Freemasons!
Interests
I’m interested in everything, to a degree. Academically, the things I’m most curious about can usually be placed under the umbrella of Complex Systems (the brain, society, ecosystems, the macroeconomy, language, the universe, life...) Entertainment-wise, I like all the usual stuff like reading, frequenting bars, making noise under the pretence that it is music, etc. Politically, I’m bent on bringing about a paradigm shift: we should go direct. My remaining interests are probably too boring and/or too personal to describe here.

Music, Movies, and Books
Book: Consider Phlebas (Iain M. Banks); Film: Días de fútbol; Music: Concierto de Aranjuez (interpreted by the Jim Hall Quartet).
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd be grateful if you could teach me any languages. My brain no longer seems capable of actually learning them, but it's usually fun trying. I can make an attempt at teaching the ones I speak.
I could also do with learning to cook better - not for my own sake (I'm really easy to please) but for anyone else who might be eating what I make.
Countries I’ve Visited
Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Slovenia, Tunisia, Uruguay
Countries I’ve Lived In
