About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Seize the day!

ABOUT ME

I was raised by my sculptor father and Ballerina mother. I am mother of four grown up children and have four grand-children. I run a music school with my husband Ian where we teach all aspects of the music industry including deliver certificates in music, form bands and teach one on one. I live to travel. I enjoy good food, wine and conversation. I am a bit of a neat freak and don't smoke.

PHILOSOPHY

I live to travel and experience life as much as I can. I believe that you are as happy as you make up your mind to be and try not to sweat the small stuff. I am an optimist and love to laugh. My goal in life is to try to be true to myself and be as honest as I can be with myself as I do not want to be blinded by "denial".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I fully support the "couch surfing" ideal after having travelled using a similar group called Global Freeloaders. We had many successful encounters travelling around Europe under the guidance of our "hosts". There is nothing better than local knowledge. Our holiday would not have been the same had we been on organised tours staying in hotels.I love to meet fellow travellers and give back what has been so generously given to us.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Our very first time couch surfing was with a wonderful guy in London called Mark. He made the whole experience fantastic. We were warmly greeted with a home cooked meal after a long flight. we then went on to have similar experiences and I am sure we avoided many of the pitfalls that unwary tourists would have fallen for because we had the valuable benefit of local knowledge. When we came back from our month of couch surfing the most memorable thing for us were the people who opened their homes to us.
