ABOUT ME

I am a 31 year old professional - working with higher education policy in DC. I am on a path to make some serious changes for our nation, that is my goal at least. I am in love with learning, and take pleasure in knowing the world that surrounds me. I have lived a car-free lifestyle forever and am obsessed with trying to reduce my carbon footprint as much as possible. Call me an environmentalist, hippie or granola if you want; I will take it as a complement. I am meat-free and heart veggies :) Traveling is my passion, and I try to do it as much as possible. I believe that when we truly understand the world at large, it will be then that we can make a difference.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is about learning. It is not the experiences we have that define us, it is how we handle those experiences.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been a CSing member since May of 2007. This is a great community to belong too. I always tell people that it renews my faith in humanity.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted more surfers than actually surfing myself. I really love this organization and the breath of fresh air it brings to my life. My most memorable CSing experience is the first time I surfed. I was hosted by a great person, and brought into a community of fellow surfers with open arms.

I am very lucky that I have gotten to experience my fair share of traveling. The coolest thing that I have done; standing in two different oceans at the same time. My first trip to Europe, while visiting a beach in Denmark.
