ABOUT ME

Elise is 26 and Russ is 27. We have been together since August 2004. We are pretty laid back and like to just go with the flow. We don't tend to plan things too far in advance as life is far more interesting when you make random snap decisions about what to do.

We like trying new things. Chinese/ Malaysian/ Indian food definitely makes us happy. Russ certainly enjoys a drop of red wine and a beer or two.

If we could afford it, we would spend our entire lives travelling around the world, but alas, that costs money so we have to have day jobs. Russ works for a mining company and works away (literally in the middle of nowhere) for short periods of time. Elise is a social worker who works with pain-in-the-ass (but completely loveable and challening) teenagers, who always provide interesting views on life and are always keeping her on edge.

PHILOSOPHY

To be happy, enjoy life and have as few regrets as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We would like to meet people from all around the world and want to open up our couch/ spare bedrooms to people from everywhere.

We are always happy to open up a bottle of wine or share a great meal and chat.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have had only positive couch surfing experiences. These experiences have all been unique and have included many Guitar Hero contests, Wii Sports contests, Buzz competitions, bottles of red wine, tasty home cooked meals, fantastic burgers, great conversation and sharing of backgrounds. Although, a warning to future surfers...Russ doesn't enjoy losing so be prepared if you plan to take him on in any console game!!

Interests

We both enjoy travelling, watching live music, watching cricket and aussie rules football, playing backyard cricket, camping, listening to music, going to the beach, having barbeques, going for random drives to random locations, eating fantastic burgers, exploring random museums, hanging with friends, meeting new friends, drinking beer (Russ) and cocktails (Elise), exploring new cities, eating ethnic foods, going to restaurants, cooking, baking (Elise), rock climbing (Russ), canoeing, snorkeling plus plenty more........We are always happy to share, so ask us anything!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: A bit of everything (We have quite an extensive DVD collection!). We are open to try and watch anything from anywhere around the world.

Books: Non-Fiction/ Biography/ Mindless Chick Lit (Just to clarify, the mindless chick-lit applies to Elise only). We will give anything a go.

Music: Indie/ Alternative/ Punk/ Folk Rock/ Rock and a bit of everything in between. We always have music playing in the background. Life without music is too dull and quiet!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's hard to pick one amazing thing we have done or seen. Each day bring new experiences. Each new experience is a great opportunity and we like to learn from every one.

Teach, Learn, Share

We have travelled a lot around the South Western region of WA including: Perth, Mt Lawley, Leederville, Busselton, Dunsborough, Yallingup, Margaret River, Albany and many places in between. We are happy to help all travellers have an awesome time in all of these areas when we can :) If we can't accompany you to all these locations we are happy to tell you where the best places to eat/ drink/ see are.
