About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet people from all over the world . To share experiences and celebrate culture .. especially JAMAICA'S!
ABOUT ME
A sincere and devoted friend. Always giving thanks. Well grounded. Still do crazy things - too often. Adventurous and daring. Independent. I was told "a strange mixture of conservatism and liberalism". FANATICAL about Kingston and Jamaica. Into Jamaican history, heritage and culture. Learning some things from couch surfers too. Cheap ways to travel - Not FREE WAYS!!. Or how to go to the Blue Mountain Peak by public transport without a guide! from Papine end. Not recommended for the faint hearted!
Vegetarian to a degree. Lover of raw foods. Good cook - mood /time permitting.
Contemplating life. It's not all about me. Nor you. I try to keep the 10 commandments. Or nine! Church Sundays. Sometimes.
My house is small.
No mansion for a millionaire
But there is room for love
And there is room for friends
That's all I care.
Recently learnt:
Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
PHILOSOPHY
Do unto others as you would like them do to you.
One Love. Continue to believe that I will thrive in spite of my government.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I provide a safe stop at the point of entry into the country. I mainly host, show travellers round town and give information to surfers about Kingston, Jamaica, getting around, costs, etc.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Best Experience - a crazy couple of lovebirds from Belgium. Some wonderful experiences. Some I could do without. I guess they come together.
Main lessons learnt: You'll meet some very nice travellers but there are idlers and FREE loaders out there posing as 'couchsurfers'. Such 'couchsurfers' dont realize than nothing in life is free -that someone always pays! Ambivalent about hosting. Still curious but more cautious. I love the experiences that open my mind to new things, hobbies, cultures, religion possibilities and take me to places I have never been before - physically and mentally. Love being around wise, pleasant and spiritually generous people - young or old. I've met some such couchsurfers.
Interests
Travel, physical and mental health and wellbeing. Giving Hope to needy. Perhaps too engaged in trying to understand self, the purpose of life, people generally, what makes us different, the strugles of forefathers, history, culture and heritage. Where we are coming from as a people and how to get from where we are to where we want to go - especially young people. Visits to museums and trying to paint. Listen to all kinds music mainly on youtube. Gardening. Would love an organic farm before I die. Swimming. Getting my website up and running, viable and profitable. Week-end camps for motivation, counselling, rehabilitation personal couching, physical and mental wellness, preventive health care and fun.

Music, Movies, and Books
I prefer old the Hollywood Clasics, Love and War themes during colonial times, but I also enjoyed the most recent Bond Skyfall. Love Jazz & blues, R & B, Ska, Reggae, Gospel, Dancehall - though many dont call it music!
I love reading bio- and auto-biographies of the rich and the famous. Some of my favourite authors are John Stienbeck, Mayo Angelo, and Toni Morrison.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
THINGS:
1. Without having a cent in the bank I once bought a car.Another time I bought a house. Man.....
2. I believe!I believe I can fly. Things always seem to fall in place exactly at the right time.
3. Mother Empress, Zion (age one) and I (age 65) on top of the Blue Mountain Peak. We did it!! See Photos.

Love to share culture
What I Can Share with Hosts
We can reciprocate time, space, home, activities, experience and information. Usually I visit family and friends abroad, I'd take something that represents the very best of Jamaican products that is easily portable - eg. Blue mountain coffee, some music, Jamaican /Appleton Rum, art or craft items, Jerk seasoning and other herbs and spices indigenous to Jamaica or used in some traditional dishes.
Countries I’ve Visited
