ABOUT ME

I am first and foremost a nerd, or geek, whatever the kids are calling it these days. My brand of nerdery tends towards stories whether they're in movies, TV shows, comic books, or even RPGs. I really like both laughing and making people laugh, so I will often force my friends to watch Eddie Izzard. Though I do enjoy going out to clubs or bars, I am just as happy staying in with friends and doing things like Futurama drinking games or games of RISK that end in the wee hours of the morning.

Due to living in student residence I have absolutely no place for someone else to sleep, but I'm always willing to wander around the city or just meet up for a chat.

Reading (mostly fantasy, sci-fi, and comic books/graphic novels), singing, playing games (card, board, or things like D&D), martial arts, hiking, swimming, soccer, games like: tag, hide-and-seek, sardines. Also, animals (except fish they're kinda boring), watching movies/tv shows, and learning different languages.

Movies: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Emperor's New Groove, original Star Wars, Dark City, Hellboy,Big Fish, Back to the Future, Memento, The Protector, anything by Mel Brooks, Moon, The Fall.
Books: I will normally read anything once, but I tend towards fantasy, sci-fi, and comic books/graphic novels. Here are some of my more favorite authors: George R.R Martin, Aurther C. Clark, Neil Gaiman,Warren Ellis, Bill Willingham, Brian K. Vaughan, Terry Pratchett, Robin Hobb, Kurt Vonnegut, Alan Moore, Douglas Adams, Tamora Pierce, Issac Asimov.
Music: Barenaked Ladies, Cake, Muse, Nightwish, Billy Talent, Arctic Monkeys, The Rasmus, Dispatch, Frank Sinatra, Tori Amos, Dresden Dolls, Great Big Sea, Flogging Molly, Reel Big Fish. Musicals are pretty fun to listen to.

Went to sauna at my host family's cabin and then jump right into the lake. This was all during midsummer's so even though it was 11 at night we could still see.

I can teach you how to say "I don't speak ___" (___ being the language in which it is spoken) in German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, and Finnish. I can also teach basic knitting skills though don't ask me to show how to make thumbs. Can also teach the Hebrew alphabet but not what any of the words actually mean. Or, if you want to learn the history of a variety of comic books characters then I can oblige :-D
