About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Our final hoorah! We have been traveling the world for months at a time for the past 7 years. The time is quickly approaching for us to finally settle down and give the adult thing a shot. But! Not before we take one last look around. We are low on funds as we are attempting to save up for settling down, but more than that, we want to make the most out of our experience and that includes meeting the people that make these places what they are. Join us on our last big international adventure! We look forward to meeting you!

ABOUT ME

We have been dating for seven plus years now (and recently engaged!) We have decided to see as much of the world together as we can while we are young and able to hike and travel with heavy packs. We have made trips so far to western Canada, around the US (including bicycling from California to Florida), through Central America, through some of Europe, and most of SE Asia.
We have found that CS is a great resource for getting around because it enables us to meet new people and enjoy making more friends along the way rather than staying by ourselves in hotels all of the time, and it gives us a better view of the town from a local's perspective than you might get from a hostel.
We both really enjoy just about anything to do with outdoors, food, games, and who can really list it all... Reading, music, science, and of course traveling and new experiences. We're all a little crazy in our own way but that's what keeps life interesting. Live and Love!

PHILOSOPHY

Safe travels. Some of us only live once, so make sure you are living and not just surviving.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We surf as much as possible when traveling so we can meet the locals or like-minded people. We also host if we are renting a place where its allowed. We have unfortunately not been able to actively participate in the couchsurfing community due to our recent living situations and limited travel style, but we are ready to jump back in!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A few years ago, we were finally able to sit down in one place long enough to welcome people into our home and it was an absolute blast. Since our trip through Europe and having had our own place in Crescent City for a short time, we have met some really amazing people though CS and we hope to be able to branch out and have even more wonderful experiences in the future.

Interests

Anything outdoors like rock climbing, hiking, biking, white water rafting, exploring old cities... Also reading and playing card and board games, meeting new people and getting the low down from locals on the non-touristy spots. If it's fun, we are in. I can go on and on with this but when you meet us you can ask anything you want, we are people people not computer people.

Music, Movies, and Books

All types of music from country to clubbing, alternative to folk, it all depends on the mood. All books, mostly fantasy and sci-fi, but lately it's been mostly travel books and ones about the countries we're traveling to. As for movies, well, classics are always great, musicals, anything funny, and Doctor Who, whatever is good.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We have traveled North and Central America with a tent, meeting locals and learning a lot. We have both worked in Yosemite National Park, one of the most beautiful places on earth, and while there of course we hiked and climbed about. We have bicycled 3000+ miles across the USA. The most amazing thing I've ever seen (Brian) that wasn't natural (like the Grand Canyon or Mt. Everest) was the start of Egypt's revolution in 2011 which was scary but epic.

Teach, Learn, Share

Like to teach English in different countries and share my opinion on any subject from rock climbing to food. Oh boy do we love food.
