About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Exploration, new places, ideas and people

ABOUT ME

I was born near D.C and have lived in Maryland, Texas, England, New Mexico and now Germany. I come from a big family with 3 brothers, 3 sisters and 4 stepsisters and I am in the middle of all of them age-wise. I grew up religious, but I have moved on from that. My focus now is enjoying life, learning and being a good person to my fellow people. I am trying to live my life in the moment and get as much out of it as I can. Easier said than done, but that's what I'm working towards.

PHILOSOPHY

I live life to learn and experience as much as I can because as I learn I feel nourished on some very basic level. I not only want to learn, but I want to share what I learn in an effective and helpful way. I believe the more I know and experience the more I am able to appreciate the world around me and the more I'm able to help others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I believe in the mission of CS. Breaking down barriers and fear. So many people in this world are lonely. It doesn't have to be that way. I love the opportunity to host, show hospitality, and send good vibes all around.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I began hosting couch surfers when I fortunately moved into a house with several members. I was blown away by how much fun it was to have guests. The conversations that developed and the stories were wonderful. Since then I've been to couch surfing events in Santa Fe and Los Alamos, New Mexico and have met some great people. I want to continue to explore the world with the help of amazing people, and I hope to help others do the same.

Interests

I have too many hobbies! I've been brewing beer for 5 years, alcohol for 7. It is a passion of mine. I make pottery, particularly reproductions of pots that I see in museums and have been doing that for 10 years. I started weaving recently to make Navajo and Chimayo style rugs. I love gardening, collecting wild food, and cooking. I love being outside and exploring. I have also learnt about adobe architecture and so want to build a house out of mud! How wonderful would that be!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a student of anthropology which means I love to explore the depths of human culture and behavior. I find so much beauty in every culture and in innovation and ideas. As I mentioned above, I want to share the most important things in life: passion, inspiration, and hope.
