About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Living from the inside out with arms wide open... Pura Vida!
ABOUT ME
I'm easy going, laid back, like to enjoy the simple things in life and often come across as the girl next door.
I love working with adolescents and teaching that young inquisitive mind the wonder of all things mathematical.
Road trips rock my vacations... all I need is a destination and motive. My favorite road trip so far has been the PCH and one day I will drive the ACH system as well as across Canada.
I just finished a month long immersion in Costa Rica and learned not only a ton of Spanish but also, the meaning and value of "Pura Vida." It was a challenging but perspective changing experience. Consequently, one of my main concerns is becoming fluent in Spanish so if you want to help me practice... drop me a line!
PHILOSOPHY
Love God, love people, live from the inside out with arms wide open.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Getting to know Houston CS, organizing & participating in adventurous outings with like-minded people, be it skydiving, spelunking or, something in between.
In the meantime, I'm putting together a collection of Animoto videos to showcase my CS experience of 2010. Check them out.
Happy Birthday Mayoi!

Couch Surfing 2010: One Amazing Year
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I spent Thanksgiving '09 with my brother who introduced me to CS and had such a great time, it was CS for me as soon as I got home.
So far, it's been pretty awesome. I've met some of the most amazing people I know, jumped out of three planes at 14K feet and been spelunking to 230ft below the surface of San Antonio. CS has unleashed my adventurous spirit and taught me how to love a perfect stranger; there's no turning back. When love is in the house, the house is packed.

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything by Tolkien, classics that I have yet to read, nerdy math topics; I'm always up for an intelligent conversation/debate.
As for musical taste, anything with a good beat and decent lyrics esp since music stirs the soul... Boyce Avenue, Paramore, Mumford & Sons, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Blackmill, Explosions in the Sky, Tiesto, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
2nd tandem skydive...so incredibly relaxing and peaceful. By far, the best therapy on this planet.
Co-hosted one of the largest TX CS Camping trips; we gathered over 40 people from across the state onto one camp ground for a weekend of spelunking, camping and tubing! Seeing strangers become friends was pretty cool.
First real hosting experience: 10 adrenaline junkies in a one bedroom apartment...we joined up with a few others the next morning and jumped out of planes. CS Airborne!
Solo Road Trip 2011: one girl, one car, 40 days, 8560 miles, Houston to Seattle via the entire Coastal Highway and back again...CS is awesome, need I say more?
Month-Long Immersion program in Costa Rica... learning the culture, language, coming back with a change in perspective about life in general... by far one of the best experiences so far.

Teach, Learn, Share
Know yourself and be true to that person, no matter what; follow your heart, not the crowd.
"Nobody can teach the geography of the undiscovered. All he can do is encourage the will to explore, plus impress upon the inexperienced a few of the dos and don'ts of voyaging."
