About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My "mission" is to travel, meet people and experience life on the other side of the planet. I love Australia but am fascinated with Planet Earth.

ABOUT ME

Now that my family is grown and reasonably independent I see this time as an opportunity to experience the highs and lows of traveling, meeting like minded people and broadening my horizons. I work as a Carer to help people stay in their homes. I completed a university degree with an Anthropology Major back in 2015 and have since moved to the Central Coast just north of Sydney.

PHILOSOPHY

My main philosophy is to live life with a 'glass half full" mentality and to make sure that each day I make someone's day a little happier. Life is too short to not be happy - Life is what we make it and the world does not owe us anything!!! What goes around comes around. Not big on super egos......

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As soon as I learnt about couch surfing I thought it as a great idea and wanted to be a part of the experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I returned from backpacking around the world in 2009 and having my first couch surfing experience in Brittany, France, I decided to be a host and help travellers in my own country. I have now many friends from far-flung countries who I will catch up with in the future. I love learning from other travellers stories and making that connection that the couch surfing experience fosters.

Interests

I am interested in lots of things and finding more things everyday. Have bellydanced, skydived, rode motorcycles, had a go playing African drums, been in a movie, raised my 4 boys, survived the 60's and 70's without too much brain damage.......lol. Also enjoy gardening, craft, kids, etc. I am interested in what others are interested in - most of the time. We NEVER stop learning - "the more you know the more you know you don't know"

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all sorts of music, except that doof doof noise, I enjoy all sorts of movies, comedy, thriller, drama, arthouse etc. Don't get too much time to read but when I find a really good book I have trouble putting it down.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visiting Macchu Pichu and Peru in general was awesome, hot air balooning over Capodoccia in Turkey was mind blowing, Time Square in New York by night, the green of Ireland and the soft rain, the grandeur of the Taj and the experience of a night train in India, camping on the Ganges, overnighting in the Sahara, driving into La Paz and the Witches Market, visiting the Uros Islands on Lake Titicaca, Ephesus - just soooo much

Teach, Learn, Share

If there is anything I know that someone wants to learn I will gladly teach them. In turn I am keen to learn new things as well. I have studied Marketing, Real Estate, Remedial Massage, Fitness Instruction and now Anthropology to name just a few.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, France, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Monaco, Morocco, Nepal, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State
