About Me

ABOUT ME

After eight years of CS, it is time to update my profile a little better: So what is interesting to know about me and helps to decide if you want to surf my couch or host me, or better not... ???

I finished my master degree in "Adventure and Experiential Education" just about two years ago and just working in the field right now, having different jobs with kids and young adults, beeing outside a lot, do something a bit adventerous. To do that I am on the road quite a lot, half the time away from home.

also for a year now, I am working in a refugee shelter, coordinating all the voluntary work here.

I love the ourdoors, hiking, climbing, looking for the stars, cooking on fire... and just everything that happens outside. Having a crazy little dog fits that interest pretty well :)

Also I love travelling! While staying for a year in the USA and especially during the year in Mexico I learned about the great feeling of diving into a foreign culture, becoming part of it and enjoying the beauty of the language, the food (damn the food in mexico was good!), family traditions and and and... writing this I am thinking, I should do it again! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I surfed so many couches, I didnt have time and room to give much of it back to other travellers. Maybe now the time has come :) I have the room and more or less the time.. lets try it :)

I just love the idea of couchsurfing. the webside has changed much over the years, it got less trustworthy somehow, just feels a bit like a new dating website because of the people missusing it. So I like to meet people with the right couchsurfing spirit, who love to get to know me, because I love to get to know people.

Interests

mmmhh... I said most of it at the beginning already:

travelling (to whereever and whenever)
hiking, Kajaking (wildwater until level 3), a little bit of climbing, caving is wonderful, but really difficult to do around here)

also ultimate frisbee (but only with people who dont take it too seriously, because this is the best sport to really get exhausted and have a laugh flash the same time)

I kind of just like beeing on the way... following a path, a way for several days and dive into it, get out of everything at home and leave all you dont need behind....

I also love parties, but that changes a lot.. last month I was partying kind of every second night.. this month.. didnt go at all, because I just didnt feel like it.. and while travelling I usually dont party that much.. :)

oh.. I am learning this little instrument you call the harmonica.. funny thing though, hehe, I guess I am annoying everybody around me, but its fun!! :D update: I am not able to practice anymore.. my dog hates that thing...

I can also play guitar very well, had classes for 10 years, but kind of didnt do it in a long time

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

swimming in the middle of the night in some water that was illuminated by plankton, you could see the fish swimming away from you because it was glowing, wow!!!

and standing in the middle of millions of flapping butterflys, that were travelling through mexico. millions!! really!!! it felt so peaceful...

And also the camping trip I did in Germany in a national park, where you sleep under some rock formations which you need to find first, the only thing that saves you from the rain but not from the wild boars, who were just running directly around us in the middle of the night :D

Teach, Learn, Share

mmhh... I think you always learn from everyone and everything if you want it or not..

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you how to teach your dog silly tricks?? :D
or I can teach you how make a fire with just some wood and a strong string??
or I can teach you how to make a really good guacamole..
or I can teach you how to build a temporary sauna in your garden :D

there is tons of things,!!
