ABOUT ME

I am a French teacher but also a public servant. I love travelling - whether it's by actually going to different places or through meeting people from different places. I am also passionate about food, culture and languages and I try to learn a bit about all of these things whenever I go to a new place.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to meet new people when I travel as this enriches the experience of discovering the world. I have hosted people in India and in France but none of this was through couchsurfing.
I would like to host travellers when I have a place of my own. So for the moment I'd be happy to show my city (or the city I live in) to visitors.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met some amazing, interesting, bizarre but always great people on couchsurfing. I will never be able to travel again without meeting people from the places I visit. This is a brilliant idea that more people should experience.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I like fiction and history-based novels. The Kiterunner, The Glass Palace, A 1000 Splendid Suns, To Kill a Mockingbird, A Short History of Nearly Everything, Anthills of the Savannah, The Grapes of Wrath, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Jean de Florette, Leave it to Psmith, La Révolte des Accents, La Cité de la Joie, India after Gandhi, Terry Pratchett books, the Wheel of Time series...

I like animated films, comedies and some science fiction films. I particularly like non-commercial films that have a socio-political message.

I mostly listen to rock but try to collect music from the people I meet and from places I visit so I now enjoy music from different places in English, French, Spanish, African and Indian languages. I have come to appreciate classical music.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I am grateful for all the opportunities I've had to visit several countries and I consider them all to be quite amazing. However, if I had to specify certain experiences I would definitely count my treks in Cinque Terre, Italy, the Valley of flowers and Vasudhara falls in the Indian Himalayas, swimming with whale sharks in Madagascar and also a train ride from Malmo (Sweden) to Berlin where I was surprised to find my train being carried across the sea on a cruise ship!

I like to share information about where I'm from with people and learn about their culture. I often find that even well-read people have certain misconceptions about countries and cultures and there is plenty to learn just by meeting people.
