About Me

Aspiring writer, poet, vagabond, seeing the world through the prism of books and paintings, but also hoping to see the world change for the better in my lifetime and be part of that change...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Thus far I've only surfed I'm sorry to say.. I tried hosting once and fell violently ill on the day the poor surfer arrived.. I'll try again one day, promise..

I've lived in a housing co-op, in a converted bowling club, a converted warehouse, on the road, in more share houses than I'd care to mention, and even in the forest for a brief stint, so I can safely say I can get by in a pretty wide variety of living situations...

I've couchsurfed in Mexico, Colombia, Bolivia, England and Los Angeles and it has been overwhelmingly positive.

Por desgracia, hasta ahora solo he sido invitada, no he alojado. Intenté una vez y me puse muy enferma el día que llegó el pobre invitado.. Intentaré de nuevo en el futuro. Os lo juro.

Interests

Politics, literature, dancing (salsa, samba, flamenco... hopefully swing soon), jazz, theatre, painting, drawing, history, travel, philosophy, good food, bushwalks, conversations where the hours go by unnoticed...

La politica, la literatura, viajar, dibujar, pintar, la filosofía, buena comida, el teatro, la historia, el baile, treks, buena conversación.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some writers that have changed my life;
ªªª

Doctorow, Milan Kundera, Barbara Kingsolver, Patti Smith.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two words: Hitch. Hiking.
Do it.

The best was hitch hiking from Adelaide to Darwin - right through the centre of Australia from bottom to top - spectacular. And then there were a few other times in Tasmania, Colombia, Mexico...

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a pretty good cook, if I may say so myself. I cook a good paella, and an even better self-saucing chocolate pudding. This is something I can definitely offer.

I'm also a raging literature nerd, and can talk about politics forever.

Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom
