ABOUT ME
Lunatic italo-greek girl, who was repeatedly heard saying "I want to sell both of my nationalities for a french one". I've curly hair that become frizzy when I'm angry. I like spoiling my loved ones with home made pizza, and I enjoy dj-ing for friends from time to time. Even though I usually hate changes, lately I'm surprised to catch myself ready for new experiences. I re-discovered the bohemian spirit in me :)
PHILOSOPHY
The important thing is to show love. To ourselves, to our friends, to the enviroment, to knowledge. Everything else will follow.
Also~~ "No eternal reward will forgive us for wasting the dawn"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By showing love, peace and unity, spreading the taste for good music and of course... hosting.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The first surfer I met (though I didn't know she was such) is Katya, with whom I lived and hung out in Paris for a month. Alundra was the second surfer, introduced by Katya. He took us to a latin bar in Paris and showed us to a cheap pub with excellent mojitos! Bennet, my favourite englishman, became a surfer after Paris, and we're planning to travel together, discover Europe. Another surfer I met in Paris was Randolph, whom I hope to host soon in Greece with Katya and Bennet as well. They remain very dear friends of mine and I miss them a lot.
There has been much unofficial hosting action, my house is a port, and I love letting people with good vibrations in, who will fill my home with laughter and love. Anthi should know that... She is the most official unofficial surfer de la maison Papathanaki.
In December 2009, the real CS deal started! In January, I hosted Joy and Barrie, and I couldn't wish for better first surfers. A few days ago (March 2010) I hosted Tatiana and Marisa and got the chance to meet and have fun with their amazing company, Quique (the dude!), Dora, Davi! I'm expecting surfers in May and June, and the more I participate, the more I love this network!
Interests
Piano, painting, reading, translating, translating, translating, especially literature. I also enjoy cooking, find it really calming. Films I love. A good, interesting, stimulating talk, with a good company and a glass of good wine. I like nights around the table with friends and good food, home-cooked. I occasionally succumb to the joys of frivolous tv-shows. I love taking strolls with my friends, old and new.

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything as long as it's in good taste, well-filmed and well-written. BUT some of my very favourites...
Music: The Doors, Yann Tiersen, The Beatles, Interpol, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong, Norah Jones, Beirut Buena Vista Social Club, Afro-Cuban All Stars, Edith Piaf (oh...), all of the Putumayo collections really, Louise Attaque, lots and lots of oldies. I' ve also developed a very unhealthy attachment to 80's easy-listening.
Books: "A Man" Oriana Fallaci, "!Caramba!" Nina Maria Martinez, "Zorba The Greek" Kazantzakis, "Still life with Woodpecker" Tom Robbins,"Historia de una gaviota y del gato que le enseño a volar" Luis Sepúlveda, Pablo Neruda, Yiannis Ritsos, Konstantinos Kavafis and so on...
Films: Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain, The Fountain, In the Name of the Father, Across The Universe, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep, Goodbye Lenin, La Vie en Rose and many, many, many more...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'll tell you after the interrailing summer ;)
For me though... it's an amazing experience every time I realize I'm falling in love with a person, or a song, or a place... It was amazing when I held my goddaughter Claudia in my arms for the first time (yes, I am very maternal, despite my age)
Teach, Learn, Share
Hm. I can share the knowledge on encyclopedic, useless trivia nobody really knows and cares about, haha... Also, I'm willing to share anything related to languages and translation, as well as letting you use my piano or buzuki, ha!
Don't try to debate with me on Paris or Naples. Those are the two things for which I'd most probably fight with you. The two cities are pieces of my heart.
If you have travelled to Latin America, India or Africa, if you dance, if you live for music, if you're able to find a hidden double meaning in everything, if you feel the call of gypsyness and dawns on beaches, I'm all ears...
In the end... I'm open to any kind of knowledge. After all, for me, that's the main purpose of couchsurfing... :)
