I'm the director of a nonprofit art center; trustee at our local community college; art-and-poetry-loving Democrat; married to a public education administrator, and father to 2 amazing young men (who no longer live at home). I'm an average guy just trying to do right in the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Swimming in a biolumiscent bay on Vieques off the coast of Puerto Rico on my son's 10th birthday. It was like floating thru a million liquid birthday candles.
Midnight Christmas Eve Mass at Notre-Dame and hearing the 300 year old Emmanuel Bell that is only rung on special occasions.
Hiking the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim in one day; sitting next to Yoko Ono on a Central Park bench for an hour; getting sprayed by the White House sprinklers).
