CURRENT MISSION

From February 2010 I am cycling around the world from the UK, riding east through Europe, Iran, Pakistan, into Asia and down to Australia and NZ, over to South America and up to North America, then across to Africa and back home through Europe.

ABOUT ME

I expect this description will become very quickly out of date as my trip around the world materialises, but currently I'm living the life of a frustrated idealist, teetering on the edge of pursuing my dreams, opening myself up to all that the world has to offer and being shaped by it, or sacrificing my beliefs and convictions for the sake of conformity and comfort.
I adore the possibility that exists in all of life and am acutely aware that one single meeting or experience can alter the path taken through it.

PHILOSOPHY

With a glass of wine and the right company it will all come flowing out, but I can't summon it up for a summary!

I'm brand new to CS but I hope the experiences that await me will encourage participation once I'm home (wherever that ends up being), and I can give something back.

Cycling in all its forms, especially as transport.
Snowboarding and mountain life.
Astronomy, astro- and quantum physics - I don't understand it, but that's what I love about it.
Religion - I'm an atheist, but religion is too important to the world not to be explored.
Photography - I rarely take a great photo but putting a few together can really start to demonstrate a view of the world (but they must be displayed, not stored!)
Philosophy, politics, culture, society, the history of the universe, earth and the human race as context for the present.

I'm a qualified bicycle mechanic so can encourage rusty bikes from sheds.
The further east I ride the more west I'll have seen so I'll hopefully have some tales from the road.
