About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Discovering the inside with some help from the outside. Making lives of others better and happier in some way.
ABOUT ME
I love meeting new people...so, write me if you wanna hang out and drink a beer! It doesn't matter if we have language barriers, laughter is a worldwide known way of communication.
My life wasn't settled and built in only one place or city, like it happens with the majority of my friends. My parents always gave real importance in developing our sense of culture and diversity, and one of the ways of doing that was stimulating me and my brothers into a deep discovery of the world.
That trip into knowledge began when I was 7 years old, specifically in Canada. My mother made her way to study in Montreal in 1995, when she achieved the chance to get her master's degree abroad. So, she took along me and my brothers, young at the time, to start the experience of building a life among people of different cultures and ethnicities, people that had different things to share and add. And there we stayed for nearly 3 years.
I returned to my home town, Salvador (Bahia, Brazil), were I continued to live until I finished high school. Another way of my parents to maintain that spirit of "go and discover the world and your chances in it" was to stimulate us into taking application tests for collages in São Paulo, which are known to be the best in Brazil. And, one by one, we achieved our space in a big and well-known university, Unicamp, in Campinas. A drastic change for who's only 18 years old: leave parents and friends and create a life in a different state, all by yourself. And so we went for another great adventure.
After 4 years of collage, and at the age of 23, I decided to stop my routine for a period of 8 months and travelled to Argentina, again to take the most I could from another living abroad experience. Aside the language learning, I lived the days absorbing the culture, the lifestyle, the environment, the landscapes and overall the idiosyncrasies of the people. Starting from zero a life in a different place makes us remodel ourselves in a fantastic and totally different way.
Nowadays, back in Brazil, I'm making my way in a vast world of possibilities. Still didn't settle, though. I intend to continue traveling, learning and having my jaw drop with the sight of new places and cultures. This gives me the opportunity of taking forward the inspiration my parents left me, that is the thirst and thrill to travel and discover, not only others, but ourselves.
At the present moment I'm living in São José dos Campos, a city located 1 hour from the metropolis São Paulo. I work as a CSI (Crime Scene Investigator) for the state police of São Paulo. Due to my flexible work schedule, I travel a lot and am always keeping alive the sparkle of wanderlust.
PHILOSOPHY
Kindness is enough.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
CS came as a fantastic finding! I joined not only to host and be hosted when needed, but also to help other people with information about my country and places I've visited, and the other way around: ask others about what interests me. Obviously, that leads to getting to know better the ones with whom we share our stories with and, in some cases, good friendships can emerge.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was hosted once in Mendoza-Argentina but never had the chance to host anybody. I'm still moving from one place to another, but hopefully one day I'll settle and have a special room to offer interesting foreigners.

Music, Movies, and Books
Gabriel García Marquez is my favorite writer from all times, and two of his books -Love in the Time of Cholera and One Hundred Years of Solitude- represent the best of colombian literature.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The touch of snow, Canada. The imponent view at Niagara Falls, Canada-USA. A boat trip along the Great Lakes; Canada-USA. The feeling that you're in the center of the world, Times Square, NY; USA. The Andes mountains circling Santiago, giving the impression the city is a true painting; Chile. The sunrise in Ushuaia; Argentina. The sound of an enormous block of ice from Perito Morenos's glacial falling down and meeting the Argentinian Lake, Patagonia; Argetina. The view of Farol da Barra in broad daylight and the sunset behind the lighthouse, Salvador; Brazil. The boats anchored at Itaparica's coast; Brazil. The sound of music echoing from a distante house at dawn in a beach at Itacaré, Bahia; Brazil. The sight of fishes, seaweeds, rocks and sand when snorkling in Paraty and Angra, Rio de Janeiro; Brazil. The joy of returning home and getting a warm welcome from my best friends, Salvador; Brazil.
