About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To create love by listening, to find out what it means to be an American in America and a human in the world by walking the land and listening to people.

ABOUT ME

I want to know the world so I may love it, know the people so I may love them. I want to do this so that I can effect a change so critically needed in these times. I want to do this by writing. I love singing, I love the outdoors. I am full of gratitude for all the love in my life.

PHILOSOPHY

Happiness and love are the most important things in life. Happiness is a choice, largely, so I try to choose it! Spontaneity results in happiness while routine tends to dull it, so I try to avoid the latter and embrace the former, though it is not always easy. Intentionality and discipline, too, result in a full life, for me. Finally, interconnection between strangers and loved ones is joy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Walt Whitman had it figured out.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Summited Long's Peak in Colorado. We began the hike at 3am, climbed over 14,000 feet and reached the summit by 10am. 18 miles all told, what a glorious day. I want more like it.

Teach, Learn, Share

Everyone has a story worth hearing. Dissolving the barriers between us and connecting with people is one of the most foolproof paths to happiness.
