About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make the most out of life, be happy and make others happy

ABOUT ME

I'm an outgoing, chilled, and happy guy. I've just finished a segment of my life working as a research scientist in London.
Now I've taken a year or so out to travel. First I traveled around New Zealand with my English girlfriend, rediscovering my home after so many years away. Them my travels too me to Indonesia, then Myanmar, and Nepal (where I did earthquake relief work). Currently I'm in India, first I'll spend a month here learning Ashtanga Yoga, then another bit of time exploring a few other places in India.
I love hanging out with people, enjoy going to gigs, parties, cooking for friends, chatting with friends over drinks at the pub. When I'm not doing these things I'm usually away traveling or planing the next trip.

PHILOSOPHY

Make the most of the life we have. Have fun and bring fun to others. Tread gently - both environmentally and with others emotions and thoughts.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really LOVE my kindle, yes I know I've just put off more than half of the people reading this. But for travel who can argue with having so many books in such a compact about of space!
I enjoy reading a wide range of fiction and am always looking for new suggestions. I'm happy if its well written and gripping.

I love listening to live music. My favourites would include an intimate folk evening, a funky fusion of bass and bass, or some gypsy or electro swing music you can't help to but to dance to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One special adventure that sits in my mind right now was venturing to "the end of the world" near the border between Columbia and Venezuela.
Two mates and I set off where everyone said you could not get to independently, after several false starts we hitched a ride on a pickup truck with many locals and sacks of rice, travel at motorways speed on a rutted gravel road. Finally we arrived at a small open boat and jumped on, worryingly everyone else carried on in the pickup and with a look of bemused look waved at us. After sometime we were in the middle of the ocean and could no longer see the coast clearly. The sun setting, the moon rising, the waves breaking over our tiny boat. It was magic! After a couple of hours and still no land it turning a tad worrying.
Enough, this story can be completed in person if you even got this far...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can talk to people about what I know about science, in particular I had lots of experience in Genetics and have taught a few courses at University level.
I find in interesting to talk through some of the changes that are happening

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll always offer to cook and really enjoy both the cooking and eating part. I'll of course love talking and learning about my hosts and sharing what I know and view about anything and everything...
