ABOUT ME

I've worn different hats over the last decade. From outdoor guiding to carpentry to real estate. With all the assorted challenges I've created in life... it seems personal endurance and focus gets me through. I attempt to be open minded and considerate of others in both leisure and work. And I have come to realize that a good "walkabout" is what I need on occasion to maintain a sound perspective. And this is how I have found Couch Surfing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just started but do like the sense of community and appreciation of being on the road and look forward to hosting in the near future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hitch hiked around Scotland in late Fall 2011 visiting Couchsurfing hosts. A really great time and met some super and conversational people that enhanced the Scottish experience.

Traveled extensively with a similar program called Servas. A community and peace minded organization that was started in 1949 to bring the world back together in a grass roots approach. Had some great times with Hosts through that program in Australia, NZ, and Canada. I highly recommend looking into it.... servas.org.

Interests

All outdoor activities (paddling, hiking, climbing, etc.), reading, writing, drinking a few beers and playing games with friends and family, enjoying a solid (mis) adventure!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach.... basic, solid outdoor skills like knots and finding one's way in the outdoors. General Carpentry.

Learn.... I hope to learn a couple new languages before my days are out on this planet.

Share.... as much as possible.
