ABOUT ME

My name is Joel and my wife is Laurence (http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/meilistanbul/). We have two lovely girls : Thaïs and Sinoë. We like to hoste friends and backpackers. Families are welcome. Since we moved from Turkey back to France we live in Ronchin, close to Lille. It's 20 min (walking) from "Porte de Douai" metro station.

The place is a cohousing community. Caroline, Cédric and Armand live at 2nd floor. Yet we live at 1st floor and we renew the grondfloor where we hope to live soon. As the house is a big mess, sorry, it's a bit difficult for us to host now but don't hesitate to ask for. We can also share our garden with campers. As the work will end (soon I hope!) we'll have a shared living-room and a shared craft and painting workshop .

Je m'appelle Joël et je vis avec Laurence et nos 2 filles: Thaïs et Sinoë. Nous recevons des voyageurs de passage depuis plusieurs années de façon informelle. Nous aimons accueillir et être accueillis.

Depuis le 1er décembre 2009, nous sommes de retour en France (après 11 ans de vie à l'étranger - Thaïlande, Turquie). Nous habitons une maison à Ronchin, au sud de Lille, à 20 minutes (à pied) de la station de métro "Porte de Douai". C'est un habitat partagé qui comprend pour le moment 2 familles : Cédric, Caroline, Armand au 2ème étage. Nous au 1er. Et puis on fait des travaux au rez-de-chaussée pour y habiter plus tard. A terme, il y aura une grande salle commune, l'atelier commun. Pour le moment, il y a déjà le jardin partagé. Bienvenue aux campeurs.

Comme on fait de grands travaux de rénovation, ce n'est pas toujours possible d'accueillir des couchsurfers en ce moment. Mais n'hésitez pas à demander... on fera notre possible. Et puis très bientôt, quand on aura plus de place, notre réponse sera plus souvent positive.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A lot... usually as hoster. However i've been hosted one time in Luxembourg city. But at that time I was a member of hospitalty-club website.

Interests

I'm a researcher in transportation studies. My field is mobility behaviors with a sociological point of view. I work for the french ministery of sustainable development.

I lived 8 years in Turkey and 3 years in Thailand. I speak french (native) english, turkish and a little thai.
