About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To share my gifts from the universe; songs and music, cooking and positive vibrations. To connect with my human family.

ABOUT ME

I live in the wonderful city of Sheffield, UK, surrounded by hills and rivers.
I've been self-employed for over 8 years and have had a range of different jobs that keep my soul satisfied and my rent paid, including childminding, teaching English to asylum seekers and refugees, supporting differently-abled people, leading percussion workshops and working in cafes.
My business seems to be to become a part of people's families; to offer my support in exchange for bits of paper and metal and lots of love.
I am also a musician/poet, having written songs/poems from an early age. I have played for many years but only started to share my music a few years ago. I am also a member of The Sheffield Samba Band, a Brazilian-style drumming/percussion group.
I choose to have a vegan diet for my own, personal reasons. I believe that we all have a choice about our diet and because I feel so happy with my own choice, I do not pass judgement on what choices other people make about their diet.

PHILOSOPHY
My god is a goddess, my goddess is a tree. My goddess is in you, my god is in me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Sharing Life and Kindness
I've told sooooooo many people about this project that have never heard about it; I'm spreading the word!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch-surfed in Lisbon, Toulouse, Sri Lanka, India, England, Wales and Ireland and have always had magnificent, eye-opening experiences.

Interests

Love cooking, reading, singing, creating sounds, listening, talking, understanding, not understanding, contemplating, walking, meeting new spirits (be they human or not), love feeling uncomfortable and scared and getting over it, love feeling comfortable and calm and appreciating it, love stopping writing lists of what I love because I'll be here forever!

  • writing
  • singing
  • reading

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not very good at remembering names of music/musicians, movies or books but I love music made from love, movies that make me cry at the bitter-sweet beauty of life and books that make me hug them when I've finished the last page.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm here. I'm happy.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love sharing my knowledge of the English language and all its idiosyncrasies.
I also love sharing music not just by performing but also by hosting interactive, community jamming sessions. I can play some instruments to quite a good level; piano, ukelele, djembe but don't have much theoretical knowledge.
I've been vegan for over 8 years now so have quite a few recipes up my sleeve!
