About Me
CURRENT MISSION
After three phenomenal years in Africa I'm enjoying my adjustment back to America.
ABOUT ME
I'm a rambling woman from the Northwest United States. I returned from serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Mali, West Africa last winter. Since then I've been enjoying life in lovely Montana.
PHILOSOPHY
Yes is the answer. Be good to yourself. Love more.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm currently couchsurfing so I'm not available for hosting, but I know a decent amount about cheap hostels, good music spots, and tasty eats in Bamako, Mali and can point people in their direction.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My favorite CS experience occurred at my old site in rural Mali-a village of 500 farmers and herders who love to drum and dance. I hosted a didgeridoo player whose jam sessions with the most talented drum playing village elders had the whole community begging for round 2 for months to come.
Interests
I love hiking, reading gluttonously, cooking like a fiend, and exploring the West African music scene.

Teach, Learn, Share
The first thing I learned in Bambara was "Allah ka tile here caya," meaning, "may god multiply the peace of the day." I thought to myself, "If this is the primary, most important thing I need to know how to say, this place is going to suit me well." Learn a local language-even if only the greetings and blessings. It changes everything.
