CURRENT MISSION

Find the Perfect Pint and do some diving in NZ and AUS mid Feb till Early March - but willing to drink the imperfect ones along the way.

ABOUT ME

American currently deployed to Antarctica at the south pole with the fire department/ambulance service.

My fellow Firefighters and myself will be hitting CHC Feb 16th for a night. Probably end up at Baileys. Then we are headed south to Dunedin the 17th, and Stewart Island for a few days after that, followed by Fjiordland, and Queenstown (prob Feb 23/24th) Then we are back in CHC the 25th and 26th. Going to the Dramfest in CHC hosted by the amazing perveyors of excellent scotch WHISKY GALORE! After that we are setting up a get together either at Baileys or Dux Delux for dinner and drinks and party all on the 26th of Feb! After that we are heading up to Abel Tasman and retun for one night Mar 1st, and leave out of the country for good Mar 2.

I would like to do some diving or snorkling and will be traveling with some buddies doing some fly fishing while we are there. Hope to meet many fine people along the way.

I definitely believe in being a traveler and not a tourist. I got referred to the site by a friend when we traveled thru New Zealand on our way down here.

I started a new tattoo upon leaving the states that ive wanted for years. Its a map I intend to fill in as I travel the world with an ever growing list of places Ive been. So far its a short list and the tattoo needs filling in. Upon returning to the states after the first contract last year I got to fill in New Zealand, Antarctica, and Sydney Australia. I cant wait to add more this year! So I need some good stories to tell my artist while sitting in the chair.

Thoughts - Outside the box as often as possible, and from a different direction. I always try to find a better faster easier funnier safer smarter lazier or sexy way to do something. Otherwise its just the norm...and what fun is that really?

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a realatively big guy, 6'7'' tall and about 290 LBS. I can fit in unbelievably small places though and comfort is often a backseat to convenience. I do however stand out in a croud pretty much, and I try to use that to my advantage. I do what I can to be easy going and entertaining. Im generally described as a good guy to go drinking with. I worked in bars all thru college and love people watching and meeting new people. I can hold my booze well being a big guy, and I dont look to get drunk. Its too expensive and takes too long, and the last thing I would want to do is get drunk and destroy someones bathroom. I strive to not be "that guy"

Being as i stand out in a croud I generally try to be outgoing and use that to my advantage. I can pretty much talk to anyone, and I tend to travel with my kilt. It makes it so much easier to meet people and end up with great stories and pictures.

I try to live by the description "never a dull moment"

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I was only able to surf in Sydney on my return from Antarctica in early 2010. I had a great time with my host and went to the Tropfest! Im always up for meeting new people for sure! I want to hit the must see places and have fun during the day, and hit the wildlife at night for a great party! I just need some adventurous people to show me around their towns!

The plan right now is to travel about 2 weeks or so on the southern island of New Zealand, with a few buddies sharing a car. I dont know yet what final plans are till my company gives me a return itinerary based on when the south pole station closes. As for now I am shooting for the 15th thru the 24th in NZ, then the 24th through the 4th in Australia for a great adventure, full of daytime travels, and nitetime excursions!

Im a bigtime movie guy in general - Usually prefer alternative music, but can listen to just about anything but rap, and can tolerate that as needed - As for books i havnt read nearly as much as i should have at this point, but im a fan of diving books and magazines generally...or anything erotic i can learn from.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I currently work in Antarctica 5 mos of the year....its the most goregeous and harsh place ive ever been!!!!! It been amazing and I will be happy to tell you all about when we hit the town on these travels.
