About Me

CURRENT MISSION

in search for the perfect afternoon tea

ABOUT ME

i've been told that i'm interesting. They said people enjoy talking to me. I am not so sure of that. I suck at first impressions. Love cooking, walking around cemetaries and taking photos of tombs, trees, snails and sometimes dogs. I was advised to write more in my profile for a possibility of bettering my chance at getting a host. It was a good and sound advice, so thank you.

PHILOSOPHY

is that I have none.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Created the account over one year ago but never used it. Used to swear by airbnb until somebody told me, "hey, couchsurfing is way cooler and more earnest." Only time will tell. But in my experience I've always relied on kindness of strangers, and most of the time they happened.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new here, so apologies in advance if thing I wrote are not standard. Never couchsurfed before, as has been rightly mentioned above. Back in my country I used to host newbies in towns but just did not call it couchsurfing.

Interests

films, food. Put the word "free" in front of both and I'm good.

Music, Movies, and Books

my favourite books happen to be the Japanese manga: Death Note, 20th Centry Boys, Skip Beat, Garasu no Kamen, used to like Bleach but not so much now. I was forced to read literature sometimes and they ain't that bad: The God of Small Things, The Great Gatsby, Catcher in the Rye. Contempo novels: The Devotion of Suspect X, The Time Traveller's Wife, Norwegian Wood, Kafka on The Shore.

Music: I listen to oldies mostly, and lots of tracks from How I Met Your Mother, which also happens to be my favourite TV show. Still living in the past and watch Who's The Boss, When Harry Met Sally, Boy Meets World (Mr. Feeny is my model teacher), Friends. Currently in the list of favourite films include: I Saw The Devil, OldBoy, 500 Days of Summer, Being John Malkovich, Fight Club, Casablanca, Infernal Affairs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I survived the national flood in Jakarta in 2002 where for 3 days in a row I travelled to the office by boat (some 5km).

I once saw two snails walking together without their homes. I thought it was quite amazing that they stick together in time of trouble.

Teach, Learn, Share

Fact: in Copenhagen, there is a park that encourages (safe) sex in public. (Is that what is meant by "Teach. Learn. Share."?)

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Timor-Leste (East Timor), United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Denmark, Indonesia, Spain, United Kingdom, United States
