About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Become fluent in German

ABOUT ME

Several friends moved to different countries and suddenly the idea of travelling more came up. Then I fell in love with a German girl and now I'm travelling back and forth between Utrecht (NL) and Osnabrück (DE) on a regular basis.

We're planning to move to Germany at some point and are considering Hamburg and Berlin. We hope couchsurfing can get us into contact with "the locals" and show us what it's like to live in those cities.

Oh, and if anyone knows players from rugbyclubs in Hamburg or Berlin, I'd love to hear about it. Will be looking for a club as soon I move into town.

I have a great love for food, especially unknown food. If I haven't tasted it before, I want to try it. And usually I like it.

(Strange: when I logged in in Osnabrück, the site was convinced I was in Dortmund. Never been there in my life!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For now, I can't offer you a couch. Sorry!

However, I'd be happy to give you a tour of Utrecht. Or to meet for coffee or drinks.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never hosted couchsurfers myself, but a friend of mine has. Together we gave them a tour of Utrecht. They liked and a year later we showed them Amsterdam.

The whole idea appeals to me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sunrise over an unknown German city, seen from the night train to Prague.

Reading childrens poetry to people while sitting in a 'bakfiets'. (If you're not Dutch, you may have to look that one up)

Teach, Learn, Share

I suppose I could teach you Dutch. Even if it's only the dirty words.
And I know a lot of the nice places to get food or coffee. They're all part of the grand tour of Utrecht.
