About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet interesting people - unorginal but sincere, to give unto the moochers out there as it has been given unto me

ABOUT ME

I teach at Tianjin University and have done so for about three years. I hate mushrooms, tofu, and people who making smacking noises when they eat their food. I love music, books and (more recently) audiobooks - as they allow me to multitask, and people who make me laugh unexpectedly. I can be a bit messy at times but that's mostly because of a deep seeded belief in "why bother" when I'm alone. However, I promise to clean before recieving any visitors.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While I've never "CouchSurfed" before, I am an experienced couch surfer and host. I've slept on floors, straw mats, yoga mats, air mattresses, cement kangs (just ask), innumerable futons, balconies, lawn chairs, (in) bathtubs, on a treadmill (once), trains, the dreaded sleeper buses and more all for the sake of saving a few bucks and gaining an interesting experience or two. While I may have become wiser (or perhaps that should be "wizened") and spend most of my evenings on actual beds (and the occasional sofa), I still respect those who embrace the mooch.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I love (some) independent films and, it seems, Zombie comedy movies. There are actually only two that I can think of that fit into this genre but I loved them both. Seriously though, I'll watch almost anything...but I don't promise to like it.

Music: Love independent stuff mostly, hate pop country with an all-consuming passion, think most Chinese pop sucks monumentally, current loves: Andrew Bird, Menomena, Wilco (of course), Bats for Lashes, and many many more. Don't expect me to remember the lyrics to most songs because my memory sucks
