About Me

CURRENT MISSION

massage school. finding camaraderie wherever I go.

ABOUT ME

Writing this from Philly, getting ready to travel back to NM to start massage school this fall. Hoping to find kind hosts as I drive across the country and as I seek out housing in Albuquerque. Would love to also make new friends in ABQ!

I know myself to be a considerate, appreciative and conscientious guest.

(I wrote this in the winter of 2010. Want to leave it up for historic purposes: ((Two or three years ago I made a commitment to myself to spend many future North American winters in the southern hemisphere. I'm just happier when I'm warm. I've also been promising myself to transition my work out of kitchens and into fields. I love good hard work, and the conversations that often occur over it. I am planning to WWOOF in New Zealand. I am also planning to meet great new friends. I have sought out many hot springs in the US and I'm hoping to visit some in New Zealand. I like dancing and overhearing random conversations. I have most recently been living in a Quaker Community / Retreat Center. I've traveled and lived around the US. ))

PHILOSOPHY

1) grace and gratitude
2) it all comes out in the wash
3) it helps to watch my breath and my thoughts
4) pay attention

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I only have one great memory of couchsurfing in New Zealand. Looking forward to someday having a couch to offer travelers. In the meantime, I can contribute ingredients to make good meals with hosts!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a great time in Thames, NZ, including an invasion of some strange insect, and a super hike to the Pinnacles.

Interests

tasting and discussing nuances in food and drink; knitting; learning to grow food; finding connection among strangers; I'm known to be a great cook; I love hunting in thrift stores
