About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore the world while avoiding actually growing up...

ABOUT ME

After addicted to backing for three plus years, I finally came back to Canada, to enjoy the Rocky Mountains. After a year of that I thought I should see some more of my beautiful country before heading out for my next random overseas adventure...also thinking what's next?

PHILOSOPHY

I feel that sometimes I am too relaxed and chilled but sometimes I think everyone just needs to say oh well or whatever and just relax.
Also through my travels I found that if you afriad do something just do it, no regrets since you never know when you will have the chance to do or try it again...
After reading that though, I think should think a bit more for jumping into so many adventures, but oh well it's always a good story.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I am a bit new to Toronto, but later on I would like to get back into hosting, and hanging out with other CSers and trade random stories for a cuppa, coffee, or a pint or two.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been a CSer without using the site that much, just having contacts through travelling allowed me to be guest and a good number of couches. As well, the house I lived at in Jasper, AB, was one of the unofficial CS houses during spring and early summer 2012, with me offering to take CSers on random road trips and site seeing, or a good hike.

Interests

First I love to cook, especially something different or new and as well its always sweet to find and discover new fusions of taste and food. I am a history student so its always interesting to learn about the different cultures of the world and discover where we and others came from. I dunno I think in the end that despite the differences, everyone basically the same, ie same basic needs and wants, and similar reactions and emotions.

Music, Movies, and Books

Okay for movies I love to watch: Independence Day, Come Back Africa!, 28 Days Later, Supertroopers, The Crow, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Hostel and Fight Club. Hmm my favourite books during university were: Zakes Mda - "The Heart of Reddness" Antoli Rybakov - "Children of the Arbat" Bernard Lewis - "The Crisis of Islam" Chinua Achebe -"Things Fall Apart" and Peter Abrahams - "Mine Boy." I do though love to read anything on history or historical fiction. More recently I finished and loved, "Shantaram" by Gregory David Roberts; "The Book Theif" by Markus Zusak; and a lot of Steinbeck. I enjoy any song that makes you want to dance or at least just rock your head just a bit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteering in Vietnam was fairly amazing. Being able to teach, play, take care, and become a friend with some many babies, children, and teenagers. I count wait until I have another situation that I can devote more time to doing something similar.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmm, a bit lame but no matter what don't eat yellow snow is a personal fav. But when in doubt although we should learn from history if your heart feels like it is the right decision then do it, if not have some tequila and come back to the thought process...
