About Me
CURRENT MISSION
cope with college courses through amazing summertime weather.
ABOUT ME
We've recently settled into a new apartment Providence, RI. We have both worked and lived in the city for the past 5 years and know it pretty well by now. We are open-minded and always looking to meet new people. We prefer bars to clubs and beers to cocktails. Foodies at heart (even though Marisa is rather picky). We seek adventure, education through experience, and the road less traveled. We believe that our lives can become richer and more fulfilling trough experiencing other cultures and places by meeting the people that call that place home, that make up that culture.
PHILOSOPHY
"The gods have a great sense of humor, don't they? If you lack the iron and the fizz to take control of your own life, if you insist on leaving your fate to the gods, then the gods will repay your weakness by having a grin or two at your expense. Should you fail to pilot your own ship, don't be surprised at what inappropriate port you find yourself docked. You may protest that is too much to ask of an uneducated girl that she defy her family, her society, her weighty cultural and religious heritage in order to pursue a dream that she doesn't really understand. Of course it is asking too much. The price of self-destiny is never cheap, and in certain situations it is unthinkable. But to achieve the marvelous, it is precisely the unthinkable that must be thought."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Last fall we had the opportunity to travel through a lot of Western European on an amazing 3 and half month backpacking trip. While away, we stayed with over 20 amazing couchsurfers who ranged in age from 2 to 50+, attended several parties and meetings, and made countless friends. To show our gratitude we intend to "repayitforward" & our couch is open to requests!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Since joining, we have met some of the most amazing, kind, open, generous, and gracious people. It has opened doors for us that we never imagined possible, and has allowed us to cultivate friendships with people from all over the globe.
Interests
Lively conversation, good beer (drinking and making it), wine, hiking, skiing, biking, travel, the great outdoors, meeting people who can alter the way we think about something, and also people who can agree to disagree when they can't :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveling all night on a train, to arrive just in time to watch the sun rise on a beach in Sicily. Hiked to the top of Mount Washington....I'm sure the view would have been great if it were a clear day, but sometimes the journey is the reward! Andy has traveled to Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, and Colorado, visiting many of the wondrous national parks withing the region. Skyping with my (90 year old) grandparents on Thanksgiving, and having them tell me how astounded they are by what we have been doing, but that maybe they would have like to do it too when they were our age :)
