Make the most of life
ABOUT ME
Life is too short to do something just because you feel like you 'should' be doing it and I never want to end up with a full time office job long-term. I love cycling around the city. I have annoyingly pale skin that is not suited to the Australian sunshine. I've been in Melbourne for about three years and it's a great place to live.
PHILOSOPHY
People tend to regret what they didn't end up doing, rather than what they've done. I say give anything a go- if it doesn't work out, at least you tried. I quit things all the time if I don't enjoy whatever I'm doing, particularly jobs.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I started couchsurfing on a long trip in 2010. In Hobart I hosted several guests and it was fun showing people around the city where I grew up. When I moved to Adelaide I also met people through CS.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had great experiences with couchsurfing so far and I wish I'd started earlier. It made such a positive difference to my travels and it's fun to host people back home.
Interests
I'm into cycling, Iyengar yoga, walking up hills, painting, bright colours and patterns, reading newspapers, and being genuine. I enjoy cooking- especially for other people- and reading novels. I like seeing new places, meeting people and doing things like taking a 26-hour train ride from Adelaide to Sydney, which takes 2 hours by plane. Although I probably won't do that again. I don't eat much meat.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen and done plenty of amazing things- it's unavoidable with travel, especially with couchsurfing. I've hitch hiked by myself in the Balkans, worked at a monastery, gone skydiving, paragliding and hot-air ballooning. I climbed Mt Kilimanjaro but at the time it wasn't amazing, just painful. I've fished for piranhas and done other stuff.
