ABOUT ME

currently traveling around the world with my girlfriend katie for all of 2016. sounds incredible to even say that... please pinch me.

spent the last few years in SF, which is amazing... you owe it to yourself to visit/live there if you never have. grew up in atlanta usa and london uk. lived in paris for a year during university. I've traveled extensively throughout europe and the usa. I can paint well and need to do more of it. I'm most passionate about photography (my work can be viewed at kevinjshort.com). absolutely love surfing, its meditation, nature and pure enjoyment all in one. I'm quite laid back. I think traveling is just the best

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I joined CS years ago to meet travelers while I was living in SF. thought it would be great to help introduce them to my city. was able to host a few people along the way too.

on our journey now, we are looking to make new local friends! CS is such a great way to connect since everyone involved is so passionate about traveling. we don't need a place to stay, just new friends ;) would be great to visit some places you know about that we couldn't normally find. coffee is great, drinks are great, day or night... our schedule is literally open all the time right now

books: so so many. currently reading nelson mandela's long walk to freedom since traveling in SA... been reading other bios lately too, just finished elon musk, working on albert einstein, steve jobs bio was great, reading the economist magazine most weeks, war of art is excellent if you need a creative kick in the mouth, cool gray city of love if visiting SF, the singularity is near for some futurist forecasting. wish I read more fiction but never seems to happen...

movies: the big lebowski & waking life are prob my 2 favs of all time. recently insterstellar was amazing and transcendence was great too

music: beatles, miles davis, the doors, common, daft punk, flaming lips, kendrick lamar, mos def, LCD soundsystem, jefferson airplane, the duke, ella fitz, billie holiday... those just off the top of my head. I like all music except pop country
