About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"And now, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, Adventure"

ABOUT ME

How does one fit themselves in this small of a box? I am mostly sarcastic and often inquisitive. I am curious and built on a restless set of bones that I try to push into movement and new ground. I am detail-oriented and shy at times, but can slide into social situations without a push. I don't know which way on a baby is up, but I can find the spot on just about any animal that needs a scratch the most. I love being behind a camera or in a darkroom, late night wanderings, and eating. I feed on the strange, intoxicating feeling of waking up in a foreign city, forest, coast, or clifftop. I speak that forked tongue of rivers but am anxious to be versed in the guttural, open mouthed language of the ocean. I slouch and spill ink and food on my sheets. I can only wink one eye and could only whistle when I had a bird to whistle to. I collect things I find on the street, and writing scraps from other people. I would like to hear your stories over tea or a fire or while cartwheeling over train tracks.

I am a phoenix who runs after arsonists.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately, the roommates I have aren't too keen on hosting, but I hope to convince them, or move to a place that is more open to the idea.

Interests

Eating, Swash-bucklin', Street-walkin', Smack-talkin'. I like: bridges, rock climbing, any climbing, maps, hammocks, hiking, spontaneous exploration, sleeping in heaps with other people, eating everything my bony arms can reach, the ocean, North Shore sunrises, taking my bra off at the end of the day, corn on its glorious cob, camping, tea, my camera, traveling till my treads run out, fake mustaches, slacklining, understanding my German relatives, wandering around naked, dancing out my awkwardness, witty banter. I do not like: headgear, wet pant cuffs, 28 years of MN winters, high heels, the pictures of aborted fetuses people hand out on street corners, soggy bread, Ouzo, splinters, cow placenta, any placenta, and tv shows with Flava Flav in them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I feel blessed to have as many as I do, but I'd rather share them one on one. And hear yours.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tie climbing knots, set anchors, belay using multiple belay tools and/or the Munter hitch. I can teach you how to embarrass yourself by speaking butchered German. I can set up a slackline and then fall off of it. I can dance awkwardly enough to free up some space on the floor. I want to learn blacksmithing, swing dancing and Arabic, among other things.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Belize, Canada, Czech Republic, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Slovakia, Somalia, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
