ABOUT ME

My husband and I have lived in Bern, Switzerland for two years and had great experiences there. We were able to do quite a bit of traveling and now we've "caught the bug". On our way back to our home town of Cincinnati, Ohio took our time and backpacked for 3 months. We were able to do a lot of amazing things and met wonderful people. Inspired, we quit our normal careers and became full time Truck Driving gypsies.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For me traveling is often most limited by budget. The CS community helps travelers by giving them not only a place to stay, but also strong information only known by locals so they can do and see things without throwing a lot of money around. At times, when we have an apartment, my participation is to allow CSers into my home and provide them with any info I can to make their travels more fulfilling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We had the opportunity of staying on several CouchSurfing couches on our travels home. It was great to meet wonderful people and share experiences.
Also, I have had the privilege of staying with friends of friends and also welcoming travelers into my home, CSers and otherwise. Once my husband had cat allergy issues, and our hosts built a tent out on their deck for us, complete with furniture. One of the nicest gestures I've ever encountered!

Interessi

Travel, movies, reading, cooking, dogs, home brewing, jazz (my husband), and bad jokes (also my husband).

Musica, film e libri

Music: husband was a rock and roll kid, but now into jazz, funk and soul mostly. also crazy stuff like Zappa. Sometimes horrible stuff like old pop songs that are long out of fashion. He calls them guilty pleasures.

film: Blockbusters... not so much. We like watching old funky classics that seem to have been forgotten. also niche stuff like Lynch. slowly working our way through the AFI top 100 list as well as whatever comes up in a college textbook we picked up once. new stuff too! if the cohen bros make a movie, we will see it.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Two years in Switzerland! Our great adventure home started with stops in Budapest and Krakow. Next we got on and off the Trans-siberian railway through Russia, Mongolia, and China. Finally, traveling around the United States from Seattle back to Cincinnati, Ohio. We saw so many amazing things during that trip that it would be hard to name just a few.

If the ingredients are available I can teach people how to make the famous Cincinnati style chili! Perhaps some other kind of recipe exchange...

I like to be surprised by other lands and cultures.
