About Me

I come from the coastal region of Ecuador, a small andean and biodiverse nation. I grew up both in Ecuador and the U.S for some time. My identity if very strongly linked to being Latin American more than Ecuadorian. I embrace the alienated indigenous roots that have been faded by todays modern society, and attempt to revive them along my journey. Over all, I consider myself to be very intuitive and friendly, easy to talk to, non judgemental and very open minded. I prefer intimate conversations with a few and more of a chilled back style of living that prioritising enjoying the simple things in life. I enjoy the flowers I see walking down the street, the noise of kids playing, the wind of a spring/summer evening, and many of the amazing shows that mother earth puts on every day. At the moment I study in Sydney, just returned from an exchange semester in Barcelona. Sydney is a city I have grown to love in its way yet the semester abroad gave me a lot of perspective into my life and the couch surfing community was a huge participant in this.
The funny story here is that I once not so long ago lived in a warm community home with a bunch of free spirted Brazilians and a Colombian, one of my flatmates convinced us of receiving Couchsurfers, I can say we had the best time with a great deal of them.... from meals, to sharing a bud and getting to know their journeys. It was a great experience that I still mentally depict as having a full living room with sleeping bags all over :). Now in the recent past, my couch surfing experience through out Europe brought me to really appreciate the community and the potential of couch surfing as a learning school for us to communicate and be with each other.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to give back now as a host! So many fantastic people hosted me and opened their minds and home to having me in their intimate space. I would like to provide a safe space for particularly female solo travellers. I as a solo traveller did encounter a very discomforting and unpleasant situation with one cs host in Amsterdam whom is on cs for all the wrong reasons and seeks to take advantage of the trusting community that cs is. I acknowledge the situation of women as solo travellers and wish to provide a space where the solo traveller feels they can let their guard down and open up to the possibilities of the trip as well as enjoying.

be aware that when I let people into my home, I expect them to not be judgemental of myself and be open minded to listening and understanding the self that goes deeper than the superficial impression of whom some one is. Also I expect respect, some interaction that goes beyond the hostel experience of just having a place to sleep and genuine interest in interacting as honest beings.
